Masson74 - My Rig

Well I had to have some work done this week! Part of it causd by some muddin' that I did!!! the Mass Airflow Sensor malfunctioned because the wires had gotten caked with mud. Also needed a new air filter (no big deal), a new fuel filter which cost a bit to put on but I didnt have to mess taking off the big skid plate under my rig or get gas in the face. I also had the tranny flushed. The mechanic did a more gentle full flush instead of the high pressure one everyone warns about here. I do have to say that it shifts a bit smoother and the engine seems to run quite a bit better since it isnt so lean. They wanted to clean the injectors as well but I skipped out on that after reading the boards and put some injector cleaner in the tank! That saved me about $50. Thanks guys!!!

All this and $440 dollars later!!!!! A bit of an ouch to the pocket book, but I am VERY mechanically challeged and ride a desk during the day! All in all my rig is in great shape for a 2000 with 114K miles and now it runs even smoother.

Keep on truckin'

What did you read about having the injectors cleaned? I am about to have mine done but are you saying its not worth the expense?

Here she is with the 33's and the one inch body lift and now 882 coils upfront. headed out to Reds Canyon by Chririaco Summit, CA this weekend for a desert run with some buddies. We will have to see how she does with the new tires and lift! Outdoor Logic bumper should be ready in three weeks!!!

We can do a moderate run like Pilot Rock or Gold Mtn or something. I know there are a few other guys that don't have armor yet and would probably like to do a moderate run too. Maybe start a thread when you figure out when and see who wants to go!

Rig's looking good Masson! Nice upgrade to the 285 TG's.

I think I need to move to SoCal just so I can wheel with all you guys. My rig is begging to go wheeling, and I cannot oblige. :(

The TG's are great. A little more road noise than the BFG's on the freeway but moving up to the 33's for the trails has been great!!!

Here's a pic from last weekend

I have been happy with my TG's and have about 40k on them with a lot of miles left on them. Can't wait to see your truck with the bumper on.

Got a Hi-Lift jack yesterday up on the rack finally. My winch is in the mail and should be on next week along with the new koyo rad radiator I bought to avoid the pink milkshake. I need to take a small break after that as I have been pouring the money into the truck as of late.

My buddy and I replaced the radiator with a new koyorad to try and avoid the pink milkshake! The other was eleven years old with 127,000 miles! I hope it does the trick for another 100K.

really? NTG's more road noise than BFG A/T? hmm . i dont hear too much from mine..almost silent..sometimes if i'm driving in a tunnel i can hear a low growl.

glad to see another person running same tires lol

Yesterday I debadged her and got all my "California" pinstripes buffed out. She sure looks pretty. Next week the sliders go on and then I'll have to got get her dirty. I am thinking of giving goldmountain a try in Big Bear for the buff out break in!!

Putting my new Savage Off-Road sliders to good use in the Rock Garden on the Gold Mountain Trail in Big Bear, CA.

Roy Lewis of Savage Off-Road is a friend of mine and even lent me his old prototype skids for the Gold Mountain run. I didnt realize why he was so insistent until we got to the ledge and to this point in trail. Roy makes some great stuff and is a nice guy to boot! He planned a great trip for the day. The rocks made me nervous a few times but not nearly as nervous as the 3.5 diamondback rattlesnake that slithered through our chairs while we were eating lunch!!!!
