Yeah, our summers are pretty flat too. I just bought a new 7' SUP made for small, mushy waves and it is a total game changer. It's like my 6' fish on 'roids. No idea where it gets its speed from, but I'm not complaining! Our winter blew. Usually that's when the NW swells really pick up and all of the spots inside the Strait light up. Most are river mouths, so they act like points. But last winter saw a very few amount of those swells to make them work. I'm headed to a great point in Cali for the first week of Nov and back to Mexico in Feb for two weeks, so if waves aren't here, I'll go chase them down!

Glad to hear the damage wasn't worse and from the sounds of it, that everyone is ok.

Best of luck in CA and Mexico, that should be awesome! Driving down to CA? If so, I can't wait to read about it in your build.

Today I cleaned up some wiring and drilled a bigger hole in my firewall. The previous hole was done by the previous owner and it wasn't the cleanest thing in the world. I have a set of PIAA 510s laying around that I need to get installed so I started preparing for it earlier. I also have plans to wire up a little 10" sub and didn't have room for that to make it through the firewall. During this, I trimmed up a lot of the excess wiring from the Rigid lights I have wired to my ditch brackets. There's more to trim but I didn't want to go too short because I'm going to wire it through a fuse box sometime in the near future.

The wiring wrapped in the protective cover is directly off the lights and has been trimmed to appropriate length. The exposed wiring is what still needs to be cleaned up. For mounting, I used a 1"x1" Mounting Base.

New front brake pads at 216,xxx miles.
New front passenger side caliper. Two of the pistons were seized.
Had I known this going into the job, I would've just done the Tundra Brake upgrade but I didn't start till about 3 this afternoon.

Cleaned up my wiring a lot today. I picked up a Fuse Block Bracket from [MENTION=135677]michaeljtomey[/MENTION]'s group buy Here. I had to do some cutting due to having a later year but nothing too extreme at all. Install was clean and easy and this is something I've been wanting to do for a while now, I just never had a good way of mounting anything until now. Also, forget the shitty focusing, it was dark and I was tired and lazy.

My uncle brought his Tacoma over to help me out a bit, considering I'm horrible at anything electrical. We installed some hood struts on his Tacoma as well. May be picking up a set for myself.

Just got back from a last minute road/surf trip. Clocked just over 300 miles, nothing too extreme but definitely a nice get away. Headed down to Hertford, NC late last night, spent the night at a buddies to meet up with a group, then drove to the Outer Banks early this morning to surf.
I'm waiting on pictures from the guy swimming with the water housing in the last two pictures. Hoping he got some good ones as he was in the perfect spot.

Firing! Nice! Just recently got back from my Cali trip. It was amazing. Got hit with the first "Mavericks" swell and the point we were at was super nice. It was pretty intense though. Being the first serious swell of the fall, the locals have been waiting for this. Never seen so many bodies in the water nor have I seen better riders. It was intimidating. Too worried about being in the right spots and not dropping in on anyone that it was hard to actually enjoy the random wave I could pick off. Catch-22 I guess.

I guess Mavericks was in the 25-30ft range.

First oil/filter change after the engine swap at 2,500 miles in. Also did new plugs and wires, and cleaned the MAF. So far, so good. The oil looked very clean and I've had about a 3-4 mpg bump up since the engine swap.

My good buddy that's in the third picture from the bottom got back from the Oakley Surf Shop Challenge in CA about a month ago. He surfed Lowers with 3 other people for a few days and got some great shots. Of course, he made sure to send me plenty of pictures and reports.

What Master Cylinder do you have?

As far as my knowledge goes, it's the original. I (think) Toyota switched up the location and which one they used after the 99s.

I lived in the Bay Area for a few years. Went to Half Moon on a super heavy swell a couple times, but was only there once when there was no fog so you could actually see the wave. Let me tell you, there's no way in hell I'd ever make that paddle out. It was scary from the shore and that wave is NOT close to the shore. Slow and low is my tempo. A shoulder to head right is my perfect wave.

You need to head to Baja. All the waves of Cali, warmer water and far fewer crowds (obviously depending on timing).

Cleaned my engine bay up a little bit yesterday. I missed some spots so I'll be going back over my Thanksgiving break to finish it up. Overall much better. Also hit my air filter with some air and that thing was full of sand, I guess it's doing its job though.
Over break, I'm going to try and button up some miscellaneous projects on the 4Runner including O2 sensor simulator, install my PIAAs, install final skid to full set, storage box with a 10" sub, and possibly a new battery. I'm sure I won't get all of this done over a 5 day period plus work and family time, but I'll be happy to get a few things done. I'll be on winter break two weeks after that so it'll be a little easier for me to get the time I need to finish up these little projects.
Anyhow, the engine bay cleaning thus far.
