I was just thinking about this as I was driving home just now... You guys need to do some math real quick. Matt your's may be close, but Scott... you're probably running closer to a 0-70 time.

Mine, for example, is now 8.2% off. 55 on the speedometer means 60 on the radar gun.

Yeah i just tested for Scott's difference. If his original tires were 265/70/16 then his new tires read 7.3% too slow. so if Scott is going "60," its actually 64.4 mph.

I'm 16 and paid for my t4r all by myself, I pay for the insurance, gas, maintenance, etc. and I might be able to afford another little car but have no reason to. Just because he's 18 doesn't mean he can't own more then one nice vehicles. You have made good points so far in this debate (and in other posts that have turned into heated battles), but your attitude towards other members has started to reflect that of which you were showing matthew star until he stopped replying to this post. Some people have "nicer" cars than you. People have nicer cars than me, nicer cars than my parents cars, and so on. (Nicer is a relative term and that's why I put it in quotes). This will always be the case.

I'm impressed at your work, don't get me wrong, but there is no need to say things like "180hp/ slow as shit/ etc etc etc." A c230 kompressor is probably faster than a supercharged 4Runner. So what does that make your supercharged 4Runner now? Slower than shit? I'm sure you see where I'm going with this

I'm 20, have two cars registered in my name (4Runner and RDX) and pay for insurance myself. For both cars. I live with my parents in their house and go to community college 20 minutes away, and I pay for my own tuition. When I start attending JMU in the fall, I'll be paying for that tuition as well. My parents agreed to pay for my gas for the 4Runner, which is the one I take out to school most of the time. I pay for the premium that goes into the RDX.

It is possible to be on the younger end of the age spectrum and still be self sufficient. Sure, I could rent my own apartment if I wanted to (would probably have to get rid of the RDX to pay for it), but since I have a nice home that my parents are willing to open their doors to me, I figure I might as well take advantage of the fact

what is more rude? claiming to ownership of cars that are not yours, or calling bullshit on it? some of you guys are so gullible. especially if you believe that he owns these vehicles. it is totally believable that he would own the 4runner, since one could be had for say....$6000. the porsche that was in the pic was atleast. an 03. so you think the kid actually owns that car? he made the comment on the 230 kompressor like it was a supercar or something. i complimentesd his parents on their nice cars.. i will take it a step further and say that his dad is a salesman at the dealership that he supposedly works for, and iboth cars were demos. look at the porsche, it doesnt even have tags on it. im sorry if i come across as a hater, but i am honest, and will call bullshit if i see it. any time i say something, wont work, i always back it up with reasons why it wont work. i dont see it as being rude at all.

obviously, you have not read halfof the stuff that i have posted. i dont think .my 4runner is fast by any means. thats what started the whole debate. if you want to build a fast car, a 4runner isnt the best platform. from now on, i will be happy to sit back and let you guys swing on the nuts of someone that makes claims that are false.

My friends think the exact same thing you do... Where do I get all my money? Well I rarely ever spend any to begin with, and I work hard to get what I have. I owe a good part of my financial state to my parents because my dad forced me to put 1/2 of every dollar I earned in the bank since the first dollar I ever made. That stopped when I turned about 12 because he realized I was then mature enough to understand the value of the dollar. I work with my dad all of last summer 9-5 doing trim carpentry all day and that was darn good money. I also bought an ATV a couple years ago for $250 (1991 Honda Fourtrax) with a leaky drain plug and a bad clutch so I fixed it up real good then sold it for 2K...You could say I'm a bit of an entrepreneur and when I see an opportunity to make cash I take it. My friends all complain that I have a nice car and I tell them to stop pissing away money on airsoft guns and wii games.

Btw my t4r was 5.5k with a bad MAF sensor. it was about 7k after taxes, tags, insurance, and parts (MAF, Oil, etc. etc.)

Actually I have been following these threads a good amount. I never said you claimed that your 4Runner is fast. Nor have I seen you say it's fast. Compared to a stock 3rd gen, however, it is fast. Compared to a stock 3rd gen, it is more powerful. Those are the two statements I can back up regarding a supercharged 4Runner. Nothing wrong with calling bullshit on something, but I think everyone here could agree on you at least being a little less ambitious to do so. Im out

Yes, it makes sense now. Has it had a lot of problems like some European cars are know to have?

actually it has done pretty well so far. the only issue yet has been the top. luckily it was just barely still under warranty or else the repair would have been 2 thousand dollars. it only gets driven 2-3 times a week and is in a climate controlled garage (usually top down) so hopefully nothing cosmetic will happen. the warranty was just extended too as the top was being done.

the c230 is indeed my car. my brother bought it for me when my old 560SEL was wrecked. it was a very nice thing of him. he sold his company and decided to do some nice things for his family.

And yes, I pay for insurance, gas, maintenance, and everythng for both cars. keep in mind, I work at Fletcher Jones motorcars in Newport Beach. The mercedes is from there and it was a preowned vehicle with 25k miles on it when I got it. that was December 2007, and the 4Runner was in March during spring break. my reason for two cars is simple. I love mercedes, I love toyota. I wanted one of each. that, and I wanted to get a car to haul friends in, put miles on, and have some trail fun: perfect answer= a $5500 4Runner. by mentioning my mercedes was just to show a wonderful community what I use to go fast. sorry I'm not good enough for whatever prick said it was slow as shit. the cars I work with (amg mercedes, SLRs) would make my car look like a turd. not to mention my fathers car also makes my car seem very slow.

he also bought my dad a car, a 2004 Porsche carrera 4s. trust me, none of
