Memorial Day weekend camping and wheeling?

Go North on the 395 just a bit further and check out the Buttermilk's or June Lake area just north of Mammoth. Even further is Tioga pass which is very nice this time of year. Another option is southern Sierra's like Monache Meadows off Sherman Pass where I just camped.

Thanks - I was peeking around Sherman Pass on Google maps over the past couple days. Looks like there are plenty of offshoots to consider. Is there dispersed camping off of Tioga?

Buttermilks look possible, and was considering Papoose Flat. Wife wants to get into the trees this time, though. Lately we've been doing more east-side desert stuff.
