Merlin's new to upgrading and having fun doing it thread

Years ago I followed, for a long time, a 3rd gen Corvette build done by a crazy guy who used the handle Merlin. This is how it ended up, last time I saw it was at the NCM (National Corvette Museum) in Bowling Green.

Twin supercharged, over 1000 hp, an insane amount of work that was arguably worth it in the end.

Soooooo, same Merlin?

Just read the thread from start to finish. I was really skeptical at first with all the crazy colors and purely aesthetic mods, But it is really coming along. You seem pretty handy, And its awesome that you're taking the rig on more trails. Good luck!

true that, this was my first real project so i was learning as i went and did what i knew how to do first and then started to do things i had not done before until i got to now.

true that, i want one so i dont get stuck like in the video, but i have been doing good so far, that was the first and only time i have been stuck so far, but i will get a locker at some point.

Im with you man, we just have to work harder. Makes it more of an adventure. My locked buddies just cruise right through. Wheres the fun in that!!

cut the body a little for the first time

just doing a little cutting so the bumper lines match up to the body lines more and the back tires gets a little more room.

it was the land rover brush bar and i had to re weld the mounting brackets to make it work and cut some of the bumper out, so no it did not go on easy lol

is anyone else having this problem? my few months old OME springs are sagging, my guess is that it is just the extra wight that i have added but i did not think it would effect the springs this much, what do you guys think? or is there something with the suspension that is holding it down?

My 891s are pretty sagged, definitely not impressed with OME springs

I see OME springs sagging from time to time, I was worried when I bought mine but Im still happy a year later. Bad QC maybe?

Shoulda went with lc8wraps lol mine are still going strong with all of the added weight

how much wight do you think you have in just the back?
im thinking i have around 500 extra lb in the back at all times, do you think they would still work?
