Metal Tech Sliders on Canadian SR5

Howdy all!
I'll be installing a set of sliders on my 2011 SR5 soon, and I'm kind of torn between the Bud Built and MetalTech. I love the look of the MetalTech sliders, but Bud's are really nice too. Plenty of guys up here have the Budbuilt's on their SR5's and Trails and all have nothing but good things to say, but I'm thinking I'd like to try the MetalTech since no-one up here seems to have them, and I've read a lot of good things.
Before I make a final choice, I was hoping someone could help confirm something for me?

I've read on a few different threads on this forum(and actually seen a few pictures to confirm) that Canadian SR5 rocker panels match those found on the Trail Edition, and I've seen that the Bud Built sliders will bolt on to both trims without any trimming or removal of the rocker panels.

My question arises in regards to the MetalTech Sliders. Since the rocker panels on my SR5 are the same as a TE, would I order an SR5 Slider or a TE Slider from MetalTech?
I ask, since the website says the TE sliders can be mounted on the SR5 or Limited with removal of the lower body panel, and since the Canadian SR5 apparently has the same rocker panels as the TE, it seems to me the TE MetalTech slider would actually look more at home on my Canadian SR5 than the actual SR5 Slider.
Just want to make sure I get the best look, in addition to the maximum amount of function from what ever sliders I choose.

I emailed them a couple months ago about this very same thing, we do indeed have the same rocker panels as the US Trail Edition. The metaltech TE non-kdss sliders will fit just fine. I just ordered the OPOR ones myself, the $200 savings was the clincher for me, especially since shipping was well over $100

Was looking at your new sliders for the 5th gen 4Runner...I have a
Canadian model SR5, which I have been led to believe has the same
rocker panels as the US model Trail Edition. Are you able to confirm
for me that your Trail Edition sliders will fit without having to cut
my rocker panels? (See attached photos, but please excuse the dirt -
its winter and she needs a bath!)

It looks to me like your 4runner doesn't have the body clad that the SR5 has in the states. So that would make it the same as the Trail Edition.

Tyvm for your reply. So, to be clear, you just ordered meaning you don't have them installed yet? I would be very interested to know how well the OPOR or the standard MetalTech sliders stand up to a high lift. From what I can tell, they should be as strong as most other bolt on sliders out there.

While I would like bolt on sliders to have the option of removing them at will, I am also very keen on using them as a high lift point if need be, since we seem to be short on those in an SR5 4R. I've been warned of potential damage while high lifting on bolt on sliders, so it would be good to get some informed input on that subject as well.

just ordered mine on saturday, metaltech's website show that they have not shipped yet. both the MT sliders and the OPOR ones are both constructed of DOM tubing, so they should both be more than strong enough to use for a hi-lift point. the MT ones do have more attachments between the rub rail and main slider body, which would suggest the MT rub rails might stand up to hi-lifts better than the OPOR.
I too like the idea of a bolt-on, but for strength, welding is definitely the way to go. I intend to have mine welded on.

yea i cant tell the difference between the opor and the MT sliders.. i emailed them asking, so i'm sure i'll find out soon

The MT sliders have a sharper angle for the rails and they are formed from a piece of sheet metal instead of the 2"x2" square on the OPOR. The MT have a bigger slider part.
