Method for airing down?

The Trailhead deflators say you can drive slowly with them on. My guess is they say that because they need some selling point. Stauns don't recommend that, but I'd also guess the Stauns would perform just as well under those circumstances but that Staun has the good sense to recommend against it. Never tried it. Wouldn't want to risk catching a deflator on something and tearing the valve off, but even in that respect the Stauns might be better suited since they're much shorter than the Trailheads.

several people I wheel with use them, and they will put them on at the trailhead, and let them air down for a few minutes while driving.

I certainly would not go wheeling up a trail with the deflators on, but just driving down the dirt road to the trail should not be any issue.

I wouldn't leave them on all day. in fact trailhead says for a max of 60 minutes.

Sorry, I can't. I have only my recollection to rely on so take that fwiw.

I went to the website, since I seem to recall that info coming from an official source, but can't find any caution against the practice. But I also can't find an endorsement of it, either, which would seem to suggest a little bit by its conspicuous absence since being able to use them that way would definitely be considered a feature.

Reading between the lines, the following line from the website might suggest the company's position on the matter. It would be hard to know when they stopped deflating if you were driving.

"The tyre deflators are simply screwed onto each tyre valve stem doing all of the work for you! All you have to do is take them off your tyres when they stop deflating and you’re set to go off-road!"

I'm not surprised. I don't see any reason they wouldn't work just like the Trailheads under those circumstances.
