Metra Wiring Harness - Illumination wire

Just got my new headunit, started wiring it up and noticed some issues. The package says thr illumination is orange and the dimmer is orange and white. The actual harness doesn't have an orange wire, only orange and white or orange and black. I assumed orange and black is the illumination, but on the wire it says dimmer ground.

What did you guys do?

Really, no one can help? Everyone suggests this harness, but no one has used it before?

I've Pioneer unit where metra connector just plug-n-play. The only thing I had to splice was DVD parking bypass. Sry can't help you there.

I've just installed pioneer avic on mine, got my wire at crutchfield, but I don't have an orange and black, what I got is orange with white. Sorry can't help.

I used the orange and white, taped off the orange and black and didn't use it

Yep, there are 2 wiring harnesses, I used the orange on the main wire harness, and taped off the other 1 which was on the secondary plug for the rear speakers. Crutchfield sent a diagram, and it said to tape off that wire and not use it

yea dont use orange/black. that can cause problems. only use orange/white or orange.
