God bless the moderators. I looks like they pulled all but one of DOCMT's posts down and we can enjoy the forum again. I would love the dark green as well. Loved it since a version of it came out on the Tacomas years ago. I would also like to see Optitron standard on all models or some other color that orange. Oh, and being able to see the stereo while wearing sunglasses or when your headlights are on during the day would be fun too.:thumb3:

They have that on the Tacomas as well, and I think it's an awesome color. It's something I'll be considering when it comes time to paint the 4Runner. Some guy at the stealership mentioned that "you'll never be able to sell it if you do that" although I do think that a good quality paint job should impact resaleability or value too much (although I have no intention of getting rid of it before the wheels fall off).
Some more improvement s for the next 4Runner iteration:
- a REAL factory roof rack. The stock crossbars are too low for anything, and flex if you put more than 100 lbs on them.
- move / redisgn the sharkfin antenna
- delete the slding deck, replace with an optional 1-piece molded cargo protector.
and my personal pet peeve:
- REAR AIR VENTS.. not those half-arsed vents on the back of the center console, I mean some legitimate air vents from the roof or side paneling. It's difficult to get adequate airflow in the back for dogs, people, etc..

Dang. I'm not sure I want to see the 2012 with a V8, power hatch, and Optitron or not.
I hate to think of the beating I'll take to buy one, plus the cost to get the new one with proper shocks and headlights...
I seriously doubt '12 will see many changes.

I think the cosmetic changes will be subtle to mild, no drastic refresh. Most recent Toyota models that get the mid-gen refresh are only to the plastic parts, they don't really change anything that will change the sheet metal. The Tacoma and Tundra got different grilles and lights, no changes to the sheet metal as on the first gen Tacoma.
I don't know what Toyota was thinking of when they refreshed the current gen Corolla only after two years, but the sheet metal was changed on the trunk lid. :repuke:
If Toyota sticks to the same time table as in the past, we'll see in about year for what's coming for the 4Runner.

The competition is flying by the Corolla at record pace, and Toyota did basically nothing.

Toyota dropped the ball BIGTIME on the Corolla. I rented one a few months back, it was a 2010 Corolla S. Very nice, but I remember (2009 I think), the XLE or whatever model had optional sunroof, leather and NAVI. Toyota dropped these options...... very stupid. Honda, Ford even Hyundai offers those in there equivalent cars..............WTF???
Anywho, I can't wait for the mid cycle refresh! I'm betting on projector headlights and LED tail lights! Someone mentioned cameras, but that's NEVER going to happen (the Landcruiser does/will offer that option). HID lights? Nope, not even the LC or Sequioa offer them. Also, I'm sure the NAVI will get updated stuff. In one of my car magazines, it mentions that Toyota has some infotainment software they are going to install on the 5thGen 4R. Should be cool. As soon as I find out what its call, I'll report back.

It uses an easily downloaded app on your iPhone, Android or RIM smartphone to feed Pandora and iHeartRadio to the audio system and Bing location data and a suite of reservation services to bolster the functionality of the touchscreen navigation system.
It all works pretty seamlessly with an Android phone paired to our test car, but in true Toyota fashion our ability to use certain aspects of Entune requires either voice commands or a full stop at the curb. In another review, here what is said:

Wait until you see the new Camry...same as the old Camry.
Don't hold your breath for 4R changes to 2012 model, more likely to come in 2013.

4. Trail available in white, not BWP, but white.
5. Six-speed trans
6. Rear-seats HVAC controls
7. More travel on passenger seat w/ 8way power, not 4way.
8. Somehow better organization/user-customization of center console (the thingy under the armrest).

The pics you have are from a Toyota Prado. The Prado is "Landcruiser" territory, in terms of class. I highly doubt features like this will trickle down to the American market 4Runner. Anyway, if you want all these features, you CAN get them, you just have to visit your closest Lexus dealer and ask to see the GX .

Why? This feature is fast becoming obsolete because you can easily get an Ipod or whatever media device with tons more storage...and just plug it into the USB.
