Mien4x4's Build

That's a sick flex picture man!

I don't think I ever commented on your tire carrier build, but I like what you did there. That was a creative way to solve the problem, and I like how you integrated the carrier with your stock setup.

Also, it's crazy how much of a difference it made having that link disconnected in terms of your front end flex. That front tire stuffs way up there without the sway bar holding it back. Did you get a chance to test it out w/the longer links and compare the results?

RE the shocks, you said that you lost uptravel, so I assume that the shock is now your limiting factor as far as uptravel goes. You might want to consider some longer bumpstops if that's the case.

Thanks man and yea the flex difference was alot from the sway bar link on to off i was kinda surprise with the 650lb coils

and no i havent goten to test the flex with the longer links but hopefuly soon tho and yea the shocks is the limiting factor for the up travel and yea i made some cheap extended bumb stops for now n it works fine

heres a pic

Nice! Did you notice any difference in handling after the original end link broke? I've been debating taking my sway bars of for awhile.

Cheap is an understatement I think..How you thought of extending that bump stop is short of genius.

haha thanks man but thats not what others think lol but wat they think dnt matter tho

:scared: those are scary looking brackets. I would go back to the drawing board on those.

yea i thought that they wouldnt hold up but it did its job when tested but im looking to make or buy better ones

yea i notice more body row when driving home nothing crazy tho but maybe thats cuz i dnt drive fast in my Runner but i wouldnt drive around with both sway bars off tho dnt feel safe too me cuz i took my rear ones off n just uses the front ones

Looks good bro. And true it is cheap and it works. What other people think really don't matter. And hell if they fail then back to the drawing bored, and of not, they idea was a success :)

I run no sway bars front and rear and yeah the body roll kinda bad but you just have to get use to it. Definitely feel the roll on corners but you just have to take the corners easier but it works. I had mine up to 80 today and it is a bit wobbly but nothing that isn't manageable. Base line is I will make my sway bar to be easily removable or just keep it off. After all it isnt a race car lol

yea thats what i thought too when i first took the rear off but i got use to it n plus i have the elocker an wen flexd out the sway bar hits the top gouard of it (thanks to Stockwell45) he posted a thread about it i think but for the front i wanted to leave it off so i wouldnt have to rmoved it when i go wheeling but sometimes i let the gf and other family members drive it so yea thought i ut it back on at least but yea thats wat iv benn wanting a easy quick removable end link

I have an idea for an easy removal system that I am going to try with my front. Will post up some pics when I make it. Should be pretty good and as for the links I am still trying to figure that one out but a nylock wingnut comes to mind.

Dude your runner is amazing! I like the 2nd gen sway bar end links idea, I'm not running sway bars and never felt the need to put them back on but with the longer end links I think i might consider putting them back on.

Nice pics mein! Interesting setup with the rear shocks, looks like you've got some serious travel to work with now... :D

80 mph does not belong in a sentence with wobbly, especially in the context of a 4Runner. Sh!t man, if you have to react to something at 80 in a wobbly truck, you're gonna turn it into a parts truck. Go ask a wrangler owner about the death wobble or try riding a loose skateboard down a hill. I'm all for disconnecting for off-road, but please get quick connects or something if you're going on the highway/interstate.

lol yeah i had it going 80 that doesnt mean that i drive 80 lol I barely drive over 65, even when it is post at 75 lol handling at 65 is severely better and is about the limit for me. This is the second rig that i have had without sway bars front and rear and know how they react. Granted the 4Runners have more body lean and that has take a little getting use to. I am all for driving within you mean and I am still working on getting my sway bar back up and running in the front. (bushings where bad, still waiting on new ones to get here) I prefer swaybars, as it is a DD at the moment. My point was that I was surprised at the stability of the truck at 80 with no sway bars. In now way shape or form was i saying to do this, nor do i condone it. I have my experience on an off the road and by far a cautious driver but i know the limits of the vehicle i drive.

Thank you for the concern though.

finally got some more work done

I'm new to all this of road stuff so I'm going to ask, what are you trying to accomplish with those drop brackets?

Allow me to enlighten you lol the panhard bar is not only there to control where your tires sit under the rear but also it dictates where your roll axis is. Ideally you want a flat panhard. The axle side of the panhard is where your roll axis is calculated from. Here read this:
