The trim piece under the light will be stainless steel.
 
I'm really liking the progress on this man. Are these guys making jigs to be able to make this a production piece? Or is just a one-off?

Can't wait to see it finished up. Any idea when they'll be getting it finished up?
 
Really like this! Flows well and what an increase in departure angle. Can't wait to see it all finished up! I'm glad I saved my tax return $$$

Are you thinking about adding weather stripping between the bumper and the body to visually smooth out the gap and minimize dirt and water getting between the two pieces (mainly along the rear lights and rear quarter panel)?

Any plans on adding a (plastic??) trim piece for the bottom side of the lift gate area?

Yep, I want one of those! Looks like it is modular where the spare can go on the passenger side and leave the driver side open for my Gobi ladder?

Also would be a good idea to flex out the rear axle to ensure frame flex doesn't push the bumper into the quarter panel or taillight.

I did think about the rubber trim, but I will make the final decision when I get the truck back.

It is modular and Luke has different attachments you can add. He also has a ladder that you can put on. But I bet he could also work around the GOBI ladder too.
 
Bumper looks great man! I can't wait to see it buttoned up. What kind of powdercoat are they using? Textured or just a satin black?

1) when you get a chance, I would love to see the underneath craftmanship that has been done. Could you post a few pictures of the undercarriage work?

2) the side panels- what's behind them, do you know? By this I mean what's stopping dust and water from entering into the interior of the truck?

3) Love it! :)

1. Of course I will take a load of photos upon its return.

2. I will have to look. But isn't there body panels behind the plastic?

***EDIT****
2. So using SOcalTrail's photo of his rear bumper you can see what is behind the plastic. There is still body panels. Now the vent is still there but I am not worried about water or dust going into it with it still being covered. Hope it helps

I know your getting bombed with questions about the bumper, but I've got another haha!

On the inside of the corner armor, has it been ribbed to add strength? Or is just flat steel? I'm sooo pumped about this bumper and it's not even on my truck!
 
I just see the potential of dust for certain and maybe water at a spray both car wash entering the interior of the truck. Where you gaps ( flex spot(s) ) are along the trim allows a nice entry for dust. Thats why im curious to see the underneath work. That dust cover on the vent does little for you on dirt/gravel roads.

I have this problem from the lower trim to the bumper. That space has to be there for flex movement. However it allows dust to enter the interior.

Im trying to work out the best way to stop it without blocking the vent up.

I'm envisioning a large section of kydex or similar and "wrap" the tailgate area below the taillights and fold it round the sides (behind the steal) and finish off at the rear wheel well. This would be attached to the body, so it does not impact the bumper flex, protects the vents in a similar fashion as the OEM plastic does and makes the rear look a bit more finished when the hatch is open. can be heat contoured on the sides to still allow clearance as needed.

I don't think it is ribbed so it was able to sit closer to the body and allow more clearance. I will let you know when the truck comes back.

Let me know what you come up with and I will see how bad the dust is when i get the truck in the dirt on Nov. 17 (hopefully).
