Mikey's Build Thread...

Got it all pretty much wired up. Just need to install and cut everything to length. It will look 100% better once installed then how I originally had all my wires.

Next weekend it is install the UCAs and get her aligned, finish the rewire and wire up the rock lights. Then I should be caught up, that is until I find out what the grinding noise is.
 
After a two month wait on jack stands the truck is finally back on all fours. Feels nice to drive it. Just waiting at the alignment shop now.

Arms were kind of a pain in the butt to get on but oh the look nice.

The bushing pop sound is now gone. Now to see how to eliminate other noises and see what else to get repaired. Did find that the front coilovers, which I removed during the install, need a nice rebuild.
 
50k sounds pretty reasonable. I guess people's mileage will vary greatly depending on how they are used.
 
So the bushing pop is not completely gone. So as I thought the lower control arm is most likely the culprit. Time to start saving for the Total Chaos LCAs. Until then I will have to put up with the pop.

Now I have all next weekend to finish the wiring and then clean the garage out so I can put Roxy in the garage finally.
 
Got the wiring all cleaned up. Everything works and I prewired for the rock lights and roof light to make their install super easy.

Just out of curiosity, have you driven without the front skid plate yet? When I replaced my UCAs, the noise was gone. I had left the skid plate off so I could take it to the dealership for a quick oil service (I was there for the headlight tsb). A couple of day later I reinstalled the skid and the popping noise came back. I can see where the flex happens in the chassis to make it happen. At least I know it's not suspension related and deal with the minimal noise.

Good news update!!!!

So took the truck in today with some help of a wheeling buddy that will remain anonymous to check on my grinding sound from the front. Turns out my Shrockworks skid plate was making contact with my transfer case, which in turn resonated to the front. Tech put a spacer in and the sound is gone!!!!

Also got underneath and tightened all of the bolts to my skids and sliders and it further removed sounds I have. Seems like the skids are the culprit. I did end up taking the front skid off and did see a couple of areas where the skid was moving around ever so slightly. Going to take the rest off and check those out too.

So all is good today! Thanks to all with the suggestions.

Time to wheel!!!!

Yup. I have the same fuse block, but mounted to a white cutting board in the vertical plane of the same location (thanks, Antman), with my relays mounted to the same board. My relays have relay harnesses, but after a couple of intermittent failures with them, I wouldn't bother with the relay harnesses again.

I also have, what I think is the same breaker, except the yellow reset handle on mine is black, and I have mine mounted on top of the battery.
 
Finally finished up with the rock lights today. Came out pretty well. The photos are bad, I know, they are from my cell phone. They are just to give you an idea.

I used six of the LED strips that you can get at Auto Zone. They have two rows of LEDs and are about 18" long. All in all I am happy.

Now to figure out what the next mod will be.

Are you worried about rocks kicking up and damaging those led strips? They look like the diodes are exposed. Not like they're that expensive, but replacing them may get old.
