Then let us know your budget. Anywhere from 200 to 6000 - your choice. I'm doing the OME kit from toytec. About 1K.
If you care only about the look (but not the clearance), I wouldn't start with the lift but find more... expressive mods.

What's the reason for the lift? Looks, drivability, fit bigger tires. Your asking a hugely vague question to a group of people with 100's of different needs. You need to really spend a little time researching what your objectives are.
Example for the money an OME kit is a great value, but isn't suitted very we'll for high speed trail travel. So decide how your going to use the truck then we'll be able to recommend something. I can tell you I did 3 days of the trails around the ouray area in a stock rig and never even scraped, lost a tire, but a lift wouldn't have helped that.

Bilstein 5100's and rear spacers. Fronts are adjustable up to 2.5". Lots of threads on this option.
Just trying to give it a little attitude and fit a slightly larger tire on the stock rim. I've already got a vehicle lifted and locked for more serious use so this is just to make the 4Runner less "soft" looking and fit a little bigger AT tire. I'm about ready to replace the stock Camry tires whether they need it or not so thinking of doing a little lift at the same time. Value options for lift is good for this purpose. It might get some desert/beach use eventually.
Hey, I did 3 days in Ouray/Silverton/Telluride a couple summers ago and it was awesome. Black Bear was something else. Don't want to mistake the gas for brake on that one.

Cheapest option I'd do:
Front - 5100's @ 2.5"
Rear - 5100 w/ SAW coils
Total about $600
Or
Front - OME 90010 w/ 884
Rear - OME 60020 w/ toytec superflex
Total about $900

Icon stage 1 - about $1750
Thanks. I'm going to check that out. I've got about a dozen bookmarks for parts for the other ride but for the Toyota I don't have much yet. Time to do some shopping.

I'd do 285's with all of them.

I just went through this whole situation. I ended up getting 5100's all around and set the fronts to 1.75" so that I didn't need UCA's and so that the truck sat level with the stock springs in the rear. I need to be able to pretend that I can fit into underground parking garages for work - this is my only reasoning.
I did get air lift bags for the back to keep the truck level when loaded up.
Next is tires, any idea if 285's would fit? I'm thinking they won't but if anyone has any real experience I'd love to know. Thinking of some 285/70/17 hancook dynapro MT's or some BFG KM2's or Micky Thompson ATZ's
Thoughts on all of this would help me out.
