Minor rant

So, take my complaints with a grain of salt because I'm pissed off. BUT I am beginning to dislike people. I realize I have expectations. I realize that they are high. But why the heck is it that everything is so hard for people. Case in point:

I buy some suspension stuff recently, they show up and aren't as portrayed. When asked about it, the fella says, well, "I only knew some of it needed rebuilt!" but no mention of it before I bought them. No offer for a refund.

So I have to eat the cost of repairs. Which turns out to be sizable. IE lots of money and I am poor. I take these parts to a shop for a rebuild. I specifically say, take good care of these parts, I am picky, if there are ANY issues let me know before you do ANYTHING. I get a call saying I don't have the tools to rebuild this. I say no problem, I'll send them to someone else. I go to pick them up, they are thrown on the floor, there are marks from a vise in the anodizing, and just generally not as I left them. I say WTF, he says, they were like that, I say no they weren't, and leave it at that because he has some of my stuff still in various stages of assembly.

Why do people suck? Why do people not care? How do businesses stay in business like this? Why will folks screw you over? I swear I don't understand how anyone can do this to another person and sleep with themselves at night. People suck, Society sucks, and cats suck too. Shave them all I say!

I'm going fishing tomorrow and it had better be deserted on the beach.

If you go to the right beach it will be:

http://www.toyota-4runner.org/off-roading/146279-no-mans-land-high-island-sabine-pass-se-texas.html

Not very far from you and you will probably have MILES to yourself. You don't have to do the whole run, drive to High Island, air down and drive east. You will be alone in no time!

Hope tomorrow is better for you.

Bad people suck. Bad people pretending to be good suck more.

But that's not all people.

Stay good.

“Never give in. Never give in. Never, never, never, never—in nothing, great or small, large or petty—never give in, except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force. Never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.”

― Winston Churchill

I'm sorry Scooter...you come at my cat and the shit is ON!!

First off....you story has lot's of fill in the blanks...not that I don't care that you were screwed...but if some some vendor (or person for that matter) stuffed it your shorts...why not just spill the beans and sell the whole story vs. bits and pcs. and then leave the blanks for me me to imagine....and trust me, dimentia is my friend..

I can't say you are wrong about people sucking in general..and trust me again, I hang out with Antman....the stories would curl your young ears.

I've been broke, and I've been poor, but I never took the shit end of the stick lying down....and the only thing fishing ever cured was a pissed off wife, a F'ed up mechanic, and some maniac on the forums....wait....

Good luck fishing tomorrow...

My advice would be to calm down, get off the crackpipe and the bathsalts, get some sleep, then consider your options.

Well, I'm mellow now. I'm just disappointed. Maybe I have old values, but I always try and treat people and their belongings like I would want to be treated, or would like my things treated. I can't imagine doing anything else. I wish more people felt that way these days.

Welcome to the new world

Our country has turned into an entitlement aspect
So people act n think everyone must give them something
Not everyone but
It's sad

I was born here but raised around the world
Came back to states at 17
Joined the marines --gave blood for my country
I'm one of the lucky one (am I ?)

We r spoiled -plan n simple
As a whole

The python has the squeeze on our nation
And it's people

I say hit our knees pray and mean it

God Bless you friend u r not alone

The rest---flame on

Quality and value is easy to find in the age of the internet, just 25years ago it took days or weeks of research on the telephone and through the mail, or from monthly publications to find what you can find in a few seconds now. There are still good people doing good quality work out there, so keep hope alive.

I work with the public. People, in general, suck. Something for nothing- make a big deal about something minor and see what you can get out of it. Take advantage of people that are willing to give. Don't appreciate when people go out of their way to help you. I'm sick of kissing the public's ass.

I'm in my 40's and I've met more friends- real people that I know I can trust- on this forum than I have in "real life" over the last 25 years.

That's why I'm on here so much...

Don't worry OP- just smile and know that everything in this world is a balance. Eventually the a$$holes will pay.

It is unfortunate that every time you go to do something, you have a high degree of certainty it won't be what you expect. Buy some new furniture for our new house, delivery damages our new hardwood stairs. Going on 2 years now. Take the 4Runner in for an oil change, scratch on the paint. Next oil change, oil residue on the arm rest. It's all of these small things that really start to add up. You can't possibly chase down every problem without running yourself down, or stressing yourself out. Pick your battles (hardwood stairs) and take a deep breath. I think we all feel your frustration.

A few years ago I learned to lower my expectations since I always get disappointed in the end. If you purchased the lift parts via paypal open up a disput till the matter gets resolved. It's not right that your picking up after someone else's sh*t. If you haven't been dealing with that shop before I'd take your stuff back and go to a different place. Good luck with everything.

Trouble with you guys is that despite years of experience you somehow still think people don’t suck and then end up disappointed. Me? I know they suck so when they don’t I am pleasantly surprised! Problem solved.

But yeah to everything Pat said, without real details the original story sucked. But I knew it would when I clicked on the topic so no disappointment here. :D

Well played sir.

Spend some time eavesdropping on the mechanics at an auto repair shop and you will fear for your 4runner's life if you ever have to have it serviced...

Lots of joking around and lots of the i don't care cause its not my car mentality... unacceptable for a business.

I don't pay people to aggravate me.

Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me.

so let me get this right..... you bought a $40k truck, then bought used parts.... then cry "I'm poor"

forgive me if I dont have much sympathy for you.
