Mirrorless Cameras

I just sold my Nikon D7000 DSLR because I’m tired of lugging that thing around while my wife and I hike. I’m looking for a nice, not the best, mirrorless camera set up.

So far I’ve been looking at the,
Sony a6300
Fuji X-T20
Canon M50

Does anyone have any opinions here? Budget is under $1k.

I've been looking at the XT3 myself. My sister is a professional and she has started using the Fuji bodies and lenses in the last year or so, moving away from Cannon. Nothing is perfect but the XT3 I'd go for it over the 3 you quoted.

I was in the same boat awhile ago...tired of lugging my Canon 6D and lenses around while traveling. I grabbed a a6300 off eBay just to try out, and loved it so much I bought an a6500. Haven't touched the 6D since. It's a world of difference in size\weight to travel with vs the old Canon setup. I only picked up the a6500 as I wanted the in-body stabilization....image quality is identical on the two. I'd also suggest the Sigma 16mm f1.4 for either. Silly sharp.

I actually like the results I get out of the Sony sensors so much I snagged an RX100VA also for when I want something I can just shove in a pocket or go super lightweight. For a tiny 1" sensor camera, it's friggen amazing.

You can look over the features of all three in this side-by-side-by-side.

I've heard a lot of good things about the Canon EOS M50. My wife has an a6000 which is a pretty good camera; the a6300 builds on that cameras benefits rather nicely.

I'm with you. Just stopped shooting professionally and am looking to move to fuji. I'm hoping they release a x-pro 3 as well next year. I think the xt3/ x-pro 3 combo with a 10-24, 18-55, 50-140 and a 23mm 1.4 will be my future setup.

Probably the EOS R.

I held one of these recently and I will admit, it feels great in my hands compared to everything else on the market. My only hope is that Canon gets their act together with the autofocus... it's way too slow in my opinion. Hopefully we see a second version with better AF in the new year.

Y’all listed some pretty expensive cameras. I’ve oretty much narrowed it down to Fuji. I’m trying to decide between the XT20 or the XE3.

Both would be great choice. I own the xe1, xe2 and XT2. XT20 looks very good. It comes to ergonomic preferences

Sony A6000 with a F1.4 Sigma lens. Love it! and really fast shooting with a 55-210mm lens also.

A6000 is good if you don't need the 4K or touch screen of the A6300.

My wife switched from Nikon to an XT20. She loves it. It shoots great colors, very vibrant, without post processing. She’s always trying to get me to switch to mirrorless, but I love my D750. Best of all, now that she jumped ship all of “our” lenses are now my lenses. :)
