Kelly - which 6 disc changer do you have? If it's in great shape and everything works I might be interested. Let me know how much you want for it. Shoot me a PM or write back here. Below is a picture of the one in my truck, but I think they also made a double DIN oem 6 disc changer. Thanks.

Also, quick question all: do your Rear Defrost/Back window up down/ECT button light up when you have the lights on at night? I'm thinking I might have a bulb out, because it seems like that top row of buttons on the center console should be lit up.

I have the premium 6 cd changer with factory amp. Dunno if I Have seen your radio combination before, but maybe mine would fit? It's in very good condition, and once I fish it out of my garage I'll shoot you a PM with pics and a price.

Great Polishing Job

I live in Atlanta too...

When can I bring mine over to pay you to make mine look as good as yours?

Yours LOOKS GREAT !!!

Awesome rig Fireball! Looks like everything is coming along great.

Is your license plate surrounding painted flat black like your emblems?

Fireball, that's a great looking rig, I just bought the exact same truck two months ago, I wish mine looked that shiny.

License plate surround is indeed flat black. I got it from Griot's Garage, and it's super nice. They make them in flat black and in a black pearl. Those with the BP emblems I think this would make a really nice addition:

Glittler - where are the photos of your truck?! With enough elbow grease and a little know-how, these old cars will shine up really well.

Kelly - still waiting on that message from you. My wallet would very much appreciate being talked into buying your used OEM unit than purchasing a new DVD/NAV unit!

gorgeous

looks great and I am following along on the subtle touches. I am planning out my Tacoma whip antenna changeover now.

Yes it does sound like you have some small bulbs out on backside of radio bezel.

There is a bulb behind the rear defrost switch to show you the switch even when it is not depressed "on". One taller bulb and one squatter bulb along that horizontal plane-they have small indents for a small narrow tip screwdriver to unlock them from the circuit board. Sounds like both are out.

trdparts4u.com has these baby bulbs at about one third the price of my local dealerships. I have part numbers if needed. Take careful note of which one goes in which hole. They wear little green condoms to mask the brightness.

johnsD90 clearly he is an auto tranny- see the radio photos after your posting

Future mod suggestions: Redline Tuning hood struts to replace the hood prop rod. Body color paint for rear spoiler to match the gloss look instead of dull flat black.

question about the LED tails-were those plug and play or were resistors or other 'load" wiring needed ? Did you have to take the whole back end apart to install or no?

It's legal to tint the windshield in Georgia? I admit that does look sharp.

Ron - would love those part numbers if you have them handy. That whole top row doesn't light up. The Defrost, ECT, Rear Window Up/Down switch. Hopefully those two bulbs you're talking about will be the fix. When I pulled that piece apart before it looked like some of those bulbs were soldered into that circuit board. Do you know if we're talking about the same bulb replacements?

The tails were basically plug and play. They come with their own harness so you do have to pull the rear wheel well cover panels back to connect the new harness plug and new ground. Shouldn't take you any more than 20-30 minutes if you're at all mechanically inclined.

I got mine from Burtman. They are Eagle Eye brand. You can buy them from him or off ebay.

Ric - nice 4R! It looks like those are the HD-SKO sliders, is that right? I'm looking at the standard Stubbs sliders - I don't need something that heavy duty and I'd like them to stick up and ouf of the way a bit more.

BTW: front tint not legal in GA. Please don't tell the police. I have a ceramic 40% front tint on the Tundra which was more expensive but way better. The 35% on my 4R is a bit dark and doesn't do near as good a job of keeping the heat out as the ceramic film.

very nice

I also searched high and low for what i wanted. 2000 sport edition with 5 speed. imperal jade mica yes it is a labor of love to get you veh. to look like that .I spent about 4 ish hrs on my paint. wash, clay bar, buffer w/clear cut cleaner, polish, than wax. looked great. than I went to the dealer to have my tires balanced and as a "courtsey" they washed it for me........with what appears to be a cotton rag.. the swirls are extensive. oh joy....

Fireball, looks awesome. I just bought a '02 4runner (black) last week, my first one. I am not to familiar with these vehicles, and was wondering if yours was lifted or stock suspension?
Cheers.

Fireball,
thankx, well them sliders were the very first of that design, that Richard Stubbs made, he made them for me years ago from the Co4RJ, I won them woohooo, since then he has made, IIRC 3 sets of them now, and Ive got them on my 04, which I put a steel plate on the top. They are ROCK SOLID and almost look like Running Boards with the plate, lol
