Hey Momo, just wanted to say love your 4runner! Very clean and tastefully built. Your the reason I'm set on getting the Method standard machined finished wheels! I've been pricing them, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.
Are you still running the spidertrax? I saw them mentioned at the beginning of this thread, but wasn't sure if you took them off or not. Love the stance!

I appreciate that. Because of the -12 offset I am not running the Spidertrax any more. As it sits now the stance is just slightly wider than it was with the stock wheels and the Spidertrax. I love my Methods!

Ever since i removed my lighted running boards and replaced them with the step tubes, I (as well as my wife and kids) have missed having lights on the steps. I was glad to find these Eagle Eye LED lights on ebay, for around $4 a pair shipped. These are 3w lights, which doesn't sound like much but they put out plenty of light. I originally wanted to mount one in the rocker strip, under the doors. I would have liked to have one above each step pad but that panel is right up against the metal of the body. I decided to make some small brackets and mount them to the insides of the step tube mounts. They are far enough up under the body, where you can't see them and just at the right height to cast light on the step pads. I had clipped the wires from my running boards, so all i had to do was tie them into those. They come on when i unlock and open the doors. I am very happy with these as well.

I will be adding some more reverse lighting. I will be mounting my 30" Hanma LED Light bar. I have one more little project that i am working on but don't want to give it away just yet, but yes it involves LED lights....lol
Hey Momo! Quick question for ya. I just pulled my lighted running boards off of my 03 Limited and I am looking to add back those courtesy lights cause they are really useful. I am thinking I am going to do something very similar with those low profile Eagle Eye LEDs. How did you wire them? I know they simply have a positive and negative, but is this (see photo below) what you cut and then tapped in to for the lights to come on with the doors and stuff? This was a cable coming from my 4Runner connected to the lighted running boards. Thanks!

Ok. It has a red/white and solid red wire. I am assuming red is positive and red/white is negative as with most wires on the car. Do I just snip that old connector off and wire the Eagle Eyes together to the existing wires?

I've done electrical work before a lot. I have just never used these little LEDs and never knew about this little connector coming out by the running boards. I'll just wire it like I think I should and see how it goes.

I have since switched to these lights and they work much better. I just haven't added them to my build thread yet.

Do you have any problems with them overheating/loosening the tape? I was looking at those before the little LED bolts and a lot of people complain about them getting so hot that the tape on the back melts and becomes useless.

I haven't had any issues. The main think is to prep the area really good with some denatured alcohol. They have worked perfect for me

I haven't really updated my thread in a while. I took a break from a bunch of work around the house to show her a little love. You can see the newer grill, headlights and the DO sliders. I ended up painting my RCI Skid black. The silver looked good but it was drawing your eyes down when looking at it from the front.

Your 4Runner looks freaking SICK!!!! I'd been searching around for your build thread, and finally found it. Now that I have, I am even MORE excited about getting my DO bumper and sliders!! I've arranged to have my cladding painted a flat dark gray.
I'll be perusing your build and stealing some ideas....such as the reverse lights and a few other nick nacks.
...and yeah I had to take a break from mods for a while to focus on some more important things. I'm back now and will be hitting the trails soon.
