Excuse my ignorance (I'm not an off-roader...)
but what is the purpose of the wires going from the front bar to the roof rack?

My guess would be to keep branches off the windshield?
But as I said....excuse my ignorance.

Bingo. They're referred to as limb risers.

I’m digging the SFA conversation on the 4Runner… never seen a 5th gen flex so much.

I’ve considered doing this myself, but I am torn between that and a proper +3.5” long travel setup. Totally different uses, but looking for an option D, all of the above, jack of all trades build.

I just need to walk into Marlin Crawler and Rock Solid Toys, hand them my wallet, and tell them GO>!

This is a rough thread… rough on my wallet because I feel a solid axle conversion in my 4th gens future.

New to tfr,s. Whats wrong with bolt on ? Or should i ask what is bolt on?

'Bolt-on' in the vehicle world means any modification or accessory that anyone can bolt-on in their driveway. This basically covers 90% of the mods people do to their 4Runners.

Something not 'bolt-on' would require welding, custom fabrication work, tuning, or trimming of factory components, etc, to install.
