mpg at 70?

I bought my TE back in November. I keep the stock tires at around 45PSI, and im seeing a solid 19.2 mixed driving. Ill average about 23 on the highway. The vehicle is extremely sensitive to grade, & tire pressure. when I have my mountain bike on th eback ill see it drop to about 18.7 when im northbound towards atlanta on the hilly road. Be sure to reset your avg mpg before each type of driving to get an accurate estimate.

I got 21 on the nose going up and down I77 between WV and Charlotte, NC this past weekend. About 18 mpg around town.

i run 70 - 80 most of the time

I just read your signature and possible causes for your lower than average mpg:
1. Where you live
2. higher than normal ethanol content at your gas station
3. Heavier tires and wheels (a few pounds makes a huge difference in unsprung weight)
4. Engine mods
5. Still winter

Try calculating MPG per tank. I filled the tank, cleared tripA and drove normally until I was close to empty. Go back to the same pump, fill the tank again and take note of the gallons purchased and divide that number with your tripA miles. In the City I got around 16mpg but varies. I did the same on a long drive on the highway (half tank) and got 22mpg with 4 passengers and that's from 50-70 mph.

At 70 I get around 21.5 using cruise control.

City driving, probably close to 17.5 I'd say.

Is NY that bad when it comes to ethanol content? I keep hearing that it might be the "winter gas" and I remain optimistic for the warmer weather. I def understand the heavier tires calculation but I was hoping the headers would help to equal that back out. I also have been computing by hand for the past 4 months and will continue to do so until the weather breaks.

I think the gearing, etc. is optimized for 70 mph. I can get in the lower 20's if I keep it 65-70. My trips lately have been 75-85 and I'm right at 20 with the TE.

I'm north of Toronto and a combo of winter tires and winter gas is definitely killing my mpg. I get about 17 on the highway. Before winter I was getting 21 on the highway.

I have always struggled with this question- do you guys take into account the reserve fuel (how much the T4R would have gone after the indicator light came on) when calculating the mileage? Or is it the question of refueling as soon as the indicator comes on, recording how much fuel you put in, and then looking at miles travelled?

MPG=(end mileage-beginning mileage)/gallons.

1. Start with a full tank.
2. Write down your starting mileage (or set trip odo)
3. drive
4. write down your end mileage (or look at trip odo)
5. fill tank and write down gallons
