Mud flaps, Ventshields, & Accessories

Really, that's what he said. Well I just picked mine up at the dealer and while yes, the front splash guards are on the smaller side, they fit like a glove and seem they will provide perfect protection to the lower portion of front doors. The rear flaps are almost as large as the ones on my Tundra. Unless you want an 18 wheeler look with chrome girl cut out or "back off" on them they are factory fit and look good. I will post pics soon, digital camera battery is dead.

Hey Knauby, can you verify the part #'s on the mud flaps you received because I used the ones Goatroper posted when the dealer tolds me they don't fit right? Maybe he just want's to keep them for someone SPECIAL!

Nah, he's just found someone who wants them worse, and will pay more.

EDIT: Those #'s are correct. I just ordered them from my dealer. I didn't write the prices down but it was like $34/ea for fronts, and $41/ea for rears. S/b here next week.

Those part numbers are correct. They are the black plastic material found on the mudguards of the Tacoma. The dealer was correct, the front guards are on the smaller size but seems to me they function well. The fit was perfect and no need to drill into your new machine! If you are going for a more flared look I would no purchase these as after market flares and mud guards are bound to come out sooner or later. If you was basic protection and no need to drill this is the way to go. Pic's soon, I promise. Gotta head out to work now, will get them posted in the morning.

Got a call from **** Dyer Toyota's parts department. They ordered these for me and when they came in he said they were the wheel well plastic guards already in place on the Limited. I will have him check again today.

So I'm having a discussion at work last night with a friend of mine and I showed him my mud guard install. He said that what I installed were true mud guards to protect the interior of fender. He said most people think of mud flaps that stick down and prevent spray over the side of vehicle. If you are looking for that and not protection of the inside fender SAVE YOUR MONEY and wait because these are not that. I find them to be very functional but after hearing his explanation of what you guys are looking for don't buy these!

Thanks. That's exactly what my parts guy at Dyer described. I am looking for the mud flap that sticks out.

Dyer's parts guy said he called Toyota after receiving the ones you got and they said there is nothing in the pipeline and nothing contemplated by them as far as mud flaps go.

Just ran down the street to my Toyota dealer where he has 2 4Runners. The Limited has these already in place and I didn't see any notes on sticker that they were added extra. The SR5 model was just like mine, interior fender was painted. These guards cover that lip that is exposed. My guess, and it is just that, is that the limited comes standard with these already on so it wouldn't make sense to order them if you are driving a limited.

huh? please post a pic. i havent seen any 4runners here in philly area with mudflap and I just ordered a limited about 4 weeks ago. the one in showroom had no flaps on it...

My SR5 Came with these "Plastic inner fender mud guards" or whatever you want to call them. Not a special order. If you look at the bottom of the front ones, you will see a second smaller piece across the bottom. Then a larger piece the wraps around in inner fender. Now, go look on your left rear wheel well..the one by the gas cap. Notice something missing?

photo of mudguard. sorry for the delay, honestly wasn't trying to cause anyone any pain. as you can see, it is a plastic piece that lines the fender well area. according to my salesman, whom I spoke with yesterday, 99% of the 4x4 models have these already installed as part of an appearance package/all weather package, or Limited trim package. All new builds also have these in place. I have no idea why mine did not come from the factory with them. If you look at your fender well area and have a plastic piece that lines the rear fender well, you have them on your 4Runner. It covers the painted lip in the rear but not on the front. I can't explain it anymore clearly than this other than to say unless I was given a line by my salesman, you most likely already have these on your ride.
