My 00' Highlander build

July 25--I went home from fishing earlier grabbed the family and went camping.

Burgers on the grill, corn in the fire, cesar salad and beer coming up

Eyeballing his dinner

Stood up to put out the fire and saw these guys standing around. Caught a picture of one of them.

I know what you mean about others not waving. I wave at every modified 4Runner, Taco, or FJ I see and try to give compliments when I see them in a parking lot.

Interupt normally scheduled update

Lunchtime report--I'm still a couple months behind on posts but it's just a lot in there going to take some time.

Today was time for some river therapy. Slipped on the waders and headed in down. 10 minutes later i was enjoying the sound of water flowing over the rocks and washing all anxieties and stress out of my brain.

Beaver are getting after it lately. Wish you could see in this picture. There are raccoon, bear, dog, heron, duck and coyote tracks all in same area.

Caught a couple of these 14" guys,,small but fun. I didn't even bother changing my flies. Just fished and walked

Lots of ducks in the river right now. They are all paired up mating I think. I know they eat midges and in the early winter especially. I use them for a barometer for a certain things. If they are in a run and eating heavy most likely so are some trout. Also when I see the ducks from afar that means there are no fisherman anywhere near. They won't let you get 100 yards from them..which generally means if u see them then no one has been fishing that spot yet.

They are snowshoe rabbits..they have very red eye shine!! I was spooked when I initially turned around with headlamp on and there was about 4 pairs of red eyes looking at us.

Haha...Reminds me of when I lived in Galipolis, OH. Right across the Ohio river, there is a town called Point Pleasant, WV. If you've ever seen 'The MothMan Prophecies', this is the town where that happened. Anyway, there is a statue of said "MothMan" and the artist/sculptor used reflective....something...for the eyes. So when you take a pic at night or near dusk...LOL, yeah, they glow! Kinda freaky! Ill try to find a pic.

So very true!!! Love the pics! I miss the western states. I'm stuck in a VERY flat part of the country right now...but soon! I'll be back in AZ hopefully.

Aug 8-Toyota Jamboree

I was real early and ended up camped kinda in the wrong spot. Well at least it was not near the rest of the group as they filed in. It was peaceful though.

Day 1 we went up Iron Chest. I don't think it gave anyone any issue. The largest concern was for the few that didn't have full skids, otherwise it was just bumpy. I do think it was an accomplishment I think for the guys with no rear locker. I wouldn't have wanted to do it.

Day 2- different group with Kyle leading

The fisherman broke off and we hit a couple lakes and raced back for the drawing. [MENTION=44220]BigFishAllDay[/MENTION] put his stuff to work and left us behind.

Pretty fun gathering that night. A few people were pretty riled up and telling some stories. And then there was major surgery being performed on Steve's truck.

Day 3- Nick and I went fishing. But first we had to hit the fly shop in Salida. This guy was taking a morning cruise down the middle of the highway.

We each caught some fish. Nick's persistence paid off and he caught some much bigger than this.

Sept 5, Poughkeepsie gulch and corkscrew Pass

I guided my buddy up the notch. I find it just as fun to guide someone up something as it is to drive it. In some cases even more fun, especially if my rig is suitable for said climb.

We could have picked a drier day. Especially for this pig.

Stuck like chuck.
