went camping over the labor day weekend and used this idea. worked great! I need to fine tune the rear one by doing some additional trimming, but overall it was perfect!

yes they just wedge into the channel and the "lip" fits over the glass. I made mine years ago after the first post popped up. I carry the side ones under my back seat year round. Not only will they keep pesky bugs out, but when parked for more than a day in a safe place and I want to keep air flow they will keep mice, birds and bats from sneaking into the car

I used the brown ones from home depot
