My 4gunner restore, refurb and re-work

It is not a total kit but partial sets:
- Cam plug seals Fel-Pro TCS 45979
- Valve cover grommet set Fel-Pro ES72422
- Valve cover gaskets + spark plug gaskets Fel-Pro VS 50422 R

oh wow, you went fel-pro on the cam plugs too? a bit surprising, i thought you only meant the gaskets.

I have had excellent luck with them and I do think the valve cover gaskets themselves are better (thinking back at my valve cover jobs that have lasted for the long haul vs ones that leaked again in 100k or so). The cam caps and such are equal to OEM - nothing special there. The blue gaskets definitely feel different than a stock gasket and I am not quite sure what the blue material is exactly or maybe it is their old material just in blue? It is interesting. Thick, flexible but has almost a silicone like property to it.

Whatever it is, has worked great for me. Will see how these hold up so I will check back in at either a leak, 15 years ish or the death of whitey. Whichever comes first

Reading up, I guess it makes since they have a silicone like property - they are a silicone rubber gasket or have a silicone sealing bead.

Overall with any decent quality gasket set, you will be fine. Prep is key

I bought mine from an ebay seller actually. If they are current inventory and the part number I outlined, they will be blue. I think most sellers just post a generic stock photo. All the ebay photos were black too but when I received the package, they were the new blue ones.

Epic battle today. Jhelms and some of my old harbor freight collection kicked ass!

Completed today on the front:
- Replaced the wheel BAB's (big ass bearings)
- Stainless lines
- Tundra brake upgrade / Callahan
- KYB Gas Adjust with new hats
- Swaybar bushings
- Wanted to do LCA bushings but this kicked my ass royally as it was... so that will be a battle for another day (have the new P/N whitelines ready to roll at some point)

Second - which pads and rotors did you use with the Callahan calipers? I am close to buying a full set of pads rotors and (13wl) calipers from Callahan on ebay - but I have read a thread or two in which people had expressed concern over the fact that these pads are slanted away from the rotors, reducing surface area of the pad. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

N/p. Callahan is powerstop. Rotors and pads are powerstop. Still holding up perfect with no issues! And the bevel on the edge is common for pads this size. No stopping issues here, that is for sure.

Did the - Prothane Steering rack & pinion bushing kit 18-701 - kit fit ok? I'm on the energy suspension/prothane websites looking for a set of rack bushings. The kit you listed seems to be made for Tacomas of a certain year, and both sites list a different kit for our 4runners (8.10103 by energy, not prothane). The 18-701 kit is a few bucks cheaper though, so if it fits okay maybe I'll just go with those. Thanks!
