My 4Runner history with Pics!

Way back in '94 I bought my first new vehicle - SR5 2wd. Owned it for 16 years and 202k! It was a fun ride, so solid and dependable... it just had too little power and as with any car that old you start to second guess yourself when you have to keep throwing money at it to keep it up to standard. Any way I still see it around as I sold it to a local family.

So back in '10 when the 5th gens came out I bought a 2wd SR5. Going from a 16 year old 4Runner to this 5th Gen was a step into the future - 165 hp to 280 - zoom zoom! Bluetooth stereo -nice!

SO after two years with my 2wd SR5 I felt like I was driving around a family crossover instead of a 4Runner. Should I mod it to my liking to fix suspension and looks? Or update to what I really want. Enter the 2012 Trail with kdds and Nav. So far after 3 weeks it's everything I wanted!!

Georgia weather makes it relatively easy to keep cars looking good. Especially if he kept it washed pretty regularly. The Tacoma I came from was a 1999 and it still looked pretty good minus the rock chips on the hood from all of the highway driving. Has 226,000 and still kicking today.

BTW..Shoreline blue looks awesome! You'll have to come to our next meet! What dealer did you end up using?

Your right on the hp, but did a little googleing, my '94 second gen was actually only 150 hp instead of the 160 I posted and my bad - the 5th gen hp is only 270. But going from 150 to 270 is stil zoom zoom!!!

The picture of the '94 4Runner was taken two years ago before I sold it. Washing and keeping my 4Runner clean is relaxing to me and a way to unwind, so if you enjoy it it's not work.

Ended up using Mall of Georgia Toyota. I knew what I wanted and they actually had to trade 3 of their on lot vehicles to get the NC dealer to release it to them, so they earned my business.

FactoryRide let me know about any local meets, sounds like a blast and maybe I can get some insight on where I can break in the 4wd, after two 2wd 4Runners I look foward to having a true 4Runner!!
