Probably. I'd like to take my son out there, I think he would enjoy it. I just have so much sh*t going on right now that the trip keeps getting put on the back burner. Hopefully soon though.

I think you are inspiring me to do my own "working mans build" thread! Sounds like we were cut from the same mold! I am pretty cheap myself and try to keep cost down on my Runner by doing my own work. I have you beat on the purchase price! (we discussed this a few months back) I got mine off Craigs for $1300!! and the thing is, I think I could have even got it for $1000- if I pushed the guy, but I already felt like a criminal for $1300- YES, it runs good and didnt need a whole lot. I have about $3000 into it right now, including cost of truck.

Thinks I have replaced or fixed:
-2nd cat. and Muffler ($375)
-Rear Monomax shocks ($180) Going to do the fronts when I get off my ass.
-Jap. LBJ's $120
-Front rotors (Brembo) and Toyota pads and Pass. SIde caliper ($190)
-Firestone Destination A/T 265/75/16 ($680)
-Trans Cooler Lines ($60)
-Denso Radiator ($130)
Removed running boards, removed roof racks...got it detailed, LOVE IT!! The Less I pay for a good running vehicle, the more I love it! :)

What part of PA are you from? I am Loacted in Sparta NJ and if you are game for some Light Wheeling at Stokes Park, let me know. The trails are pretty mild.

Congrats, I like the way you're going with yours. I actually did see that pic earlier on the NE4ROA Facebook page, it looks good.

I'm right outside Philly (literally.) I live in Glenside, it's the 1st neighborhood over the NW border of Philly. Where is Sparta? I'm up for some light wheeling, I like my truck too much to beat her much. I really just want to get out to take my 6 year old, I think he'd love it. Let me know.

Well, after the alignment, it was still off a little. Not bad at all for a 15 year old, 190K mile truck, but it was still off. So I called my buddy at Sloane Toyota, dropped it off this morning, had it back by 11 this morning and it's perfect. And of course, no charge.

I hear ya. I've got a lot of sh*t going on too but I've got a plan to carve out some time to go wheelin'. All work and no play ... So what's next for your truck?
 
Got her inspected today. All good, just had the replace the front brake lines. He said he could pass it but it would need them soon. Rather than risk it, I told him just to do them since it was already there. Piece of mind.

PitBull, yeah, it looks taller but that's a good thing, isn't it? Love the five stars too.
 
Thanks gentlemen. I'm pretty happy with the wheels too, I like the way they came out. It's funny, I was getting some noise that I thought was a pinion bearing going bad, after greasing up the driveshafts and joints today, it's almost completely gone. I'm pretty happy about that. Surprised but happy.
 
We had a little wrenching party at Zach's yeserday. Finally replaced my 02 sensor (it was pretty nasty looking when I took got it out.) Hoping for a MPG improvement. I also replaced my leaking rear heater lines. I cut them on the firewall, ran 3/8" heater hose from the firewall all the way back. Tied them up high on the frame and good to go. Trevor and I (mostly Trevor) installed my tranny cooler too. Other than a few boken clips for the grill it was a great success.
 
Thanks for the great thread Pittbull, I have a 96' and am on a less than $2k budget to spruce it up and you've been a great inspiration!

Definitely doable my friend. Just have to hunt around for deals and not be afraid of some used parts. Let me know if you need anything, happy to help. And post up some pics and a write up about yours.
 
Pitbull, tell us about that tranny cooler. What's involved? Which one did you use? Pics of final installation? Pitfalls to avoid? How do you like it so far? Whew, guess I better lay off the caffeine, huh? :)
