My First Couple of Mods

So it hasn't been two weeks yet and I have done a few things to my new baby.:guitar2:

- LED's to every light on the interior

- Tinted windows all the way around

- In-channel vent visors

- Raiders hitch cover

Soon to come:

- Getting fitted at Defiant for a light bar up front

- Lift, wheels and tires

- Exhaust

Could you hold your house key a little more into the frame so I can copy it? Nice TE, love the matching tint, that actually reminds me I called my local tint guy and I have not heard back from him.

Thanks guys! Actually 15% up front and 35% over the factory tint and i think it matches pretty perfectly. It looks so dark because it is in the shade.

And its my car key hahaha.. didn't notice it until i uploaded the pics on my comp and was over it at that point..:violin:

You should tint the front windshield. Black 4Runners look amazing with this done. Of course people always ask about being able to see out. You can see out perfectly, night or day. Illegal yes but very worth it. I mainly like it because at night the glare from oncoming traffic doesn't blind you. I would recommend 35% on the windshield.

Ya, I dont think tinting the windshield is going to be a good idea.. I got a tint strip at the top but that's as much as I will do.

Wheels are a good question. If anyone wants to photoshop i'd really appreciate it. Raceline monsters in polished or procomp 7028s.

Is that a 2011? Mind if I ask where you purchased it? I've been looking in So Cal for a 2011 TE with no luck. I also noticed there were very few TEs in So Cal in 2010 as well. Thx!

My TE is a 2010.. had 8k miles on it and someone decided they didnt want it anymore :wow: ... o well their loss, my gain. I purchased it at Executive Autohaus in Costa Mesa, CA. Great customer service and two free clay bar details a year is a nice throw in.

They are Wade in-channel vent visors... I got mine on Ebay and they were here in less than 5 days.

And ya I have been e-mailing back and forth with Paul (owner at Defiant). Getting fitted early Saturday morning and I will update with how long until he fabs them up.:hatsoff:

Did you have an issues with the wade in channels once installed? I didn't know if the auto up feature would still work if the motor sensed some resistance from the vent visor. I have heard of some people having this problem, but it eventually went away. Just curious about your experiences. Thanks.

I have these and have that exact problem, not to mention they are LOUD! Any time you change the aerodynamics, it will affect the sound of the wind but these things are stupid loud...my $.02

The install was easy.. the one thing you have to let them do is really get set in place (leave the windows rolled up for 72 hrs.). I did this and sometimes the auto-up feature doesn't work and sometimes it does work. Now i just stop it right before it hits and let go up slower just to avoid any BS happening...


As far as noise, I have not noticed a significant change as stated above. It is a little bit different sound but definitely not bothersome...

and for those interested.. defiant light bar trial light bar should be done in about 3 weeks.. assuming all goes well I am sure they will be available online soon.. I will keep you guys posted. :wink2:

Nice looking T4R! My lift kit is sitting here and I'm trying to decide on tire size... what are you running on yours? I like the proportions on the truck.

Cant wait to see the light bar. I may go this route if I cant find a bumper I like.
