Not only can it trap debris underneath, but the sun is going to play hell on that paint job with the hood and fenders half covered up.

i just did the certifit deal for a wrecked 4runner i picked up...fenders are only like 30 bux a piece...bumper was like 60 or so....i had to do the whole front end including rad support, turn signals, clearance lamps... and it was still in under $300 bux total...you could prob get it powdercoated for 60-100 bux and never have to worry about rust.
