My SR5 4WD in Big Bend Nat'l Park (pics)

Hello everybody, I bought my first SUV last month and have been itching to take it out on the trails -- got my chance over the past few days when I made my annual pilgrimage to Big Bend. Except for some annoying "desert pin-striping" to my clear coat, the park was gorgeous and everything went great. Hope you enjoy the pics.

Here are a few pics of a narrow pass along Black Gap road, which is the hardest trail in the park. I'm definitely a novice, so I was happy to be in my new 4Runner, which handled all the tricky stuff with relative ease. There was one challenging step-off, but people had stacked rocks to make a nice ramp, so it was very reasonable.

Big Bend is awesome! you should look into the Guadalupe mountains (tallest mountain in TX) north of big bend

anyway, something more thread related, great pictures but you should have taken some more with the 4R in action :sniper:

Big Bend is amazing. was there for the first time ~1 year ago and was completely blown away. we camped at the chisos basin and it was unreal. tarantulas and javelinas... found fresh black bear tracks one morning!

wish the national park system wasn't so draconian about dogs, though....

looks awesome, I have got to get out west sure is a long haul from NY though. I am trying to get Fort Carson for my next duty station maybe it will work out.

great pictures, way to remind everyone you don't need a trail edition just to go off road!
