Im located in roseville, just 10 minutes east of sacramento.. Figured this time id keep track of my project and post pics because was never really into it. Ive owned two 97s previously but just recently Picked up a 96 4runner (4x4s only) on 03/30/13 the same day i rolled my 87 first generation 4runner wheeling out at Mormon Emigrant off of highway 50.:pout: :happens:

Needed a car asap so got a really good deal on the 96. Found it on craigslist as is and took her home to repair.

Disassembled the whole front end and went and found all parts needed in one day. Inlcuding air bags, windshield, hood, fenders, core support, headlights, grill, power steering pump, radiator, and a/c condenser.

Also needed frame work so called a friend of mine and worked on it for 2 days straight to get it right :becky:

Once all work was done, it was time to start with the Tacoma front end, starting with the tacoma core support.

All together took me about 5 days to get this thing on the road and took it to shop yesterday to get painted and picked her up today.

Is there a write up on this somewhere? If not, what did you have to do for the Taco front end, just the core support and everything bolts up?

Awesome looking truck!

Thanks fellas. Here's all you will need:

01-04 Tacoma Parts:
Fenders
Hood hinges
Hood
Headlights
Grill.

Everything is bolt on and lines perfectly up.

holy crap man! looks like you're having a ton of fun. i wish i had the guts to buy a fixer upper on a whim like this. kudos to you my friend! the truck looks mean

Really digging this conversion..especially seeing it on a desert dune makes me wonder! Might have to tackle this sometime down the road, especially if I end up with any front end damage. Insurance $ would be helpful! haha. Keep up the good work man!

Thanks bro, just to clarify though, the taco rad support/core isn't needed? I'm guessing you used as a repair since it had the previous damage.

I've done a couple JDM front end swaps (DC2 Integra, and a S15 240SX) but I've never seen the taco/runner, it's such a slick look!

I like it! Excellent job with the swap. Looks like it was meant to be. Im anxious to see what bumper you get/make and how it looks. Keep it up!

Sorry I forgot to mention the Radiator support. Once that's welded on its all bolt on.

Hey man, looks good! Just couldn't stop with one 4runner huh? lol

No sir! Haha forever favorite.
Building the 1st back up to fix for more intense crawling so got my hands full with 2 projects.

Thanks fellas for the support :)) I'm liking her alot definently getting alot of heads turning!

Sweet job dacurly25!
Sorry haven't had time to get on with work and all. But I went and picked up the bumper from Stockton for $40 direct bolt on. Not really liking the silver color so I think I'll paint it black. Also picked up used taco front flares for $90 from a local dismantled yard.

Bad picture I know, but ill be getting more soon. I also took off all the black trim pieces to paint; including rear bumper trim, mudflaps, rear flares, front plastic windshield trim, and rear license plate trim. Got two cans from auto zone for $10 and came out beautiful like new!
