My Tacoma was lonely

So let me just start this out by saying the following;

I had no intention of buying this 4Runner. I happened to be browsing Craigslist and the ad caught my eye and seemed to be one of those too-good-to-be-true deals, so I had to take a look.

The 4Runner is a 1997 Limited edition with sunroof and leather. It has a first gen TRD supercharger on it (V6). Yes it is automatic :(

Here's the best part, the 4Runner has 86,000 miles on it and I got it for $3500........ :bounce:

Now on to the pics!






The wheels are hideous, but luckily I have a set of 5 spoke TRD wheels from my Tacoma with tires that I will put on. The running boards are gonna go and I will not be driving it until my new radiator comes in (avoiding the dreaded milkshake!) There is less rust on this 4Runner than there is on my Tacoma! Plans are simple, just another toy, gonna keep things simple. Once my supercharger comes back from a rebuild for the Tacoma, I will have 2 supercharged 3.4's :D

How big is that golden horseshoe up your keister? You must do well in Atlantic City.

Nice find! But I don't think that is the original radiator.

haha yeah I got lucky this time...

What makes you think the rad has been replaced? As a former Toyota mech, I did a thorough check of the vehicle before I purchased. Coolant is full and is the Toyota OEM pink coolant. The trans shifts fine and the fluid looks and smells good with no signs of ever being mixed with coolant.
 
The top of the OEM radiator is a lighter brown, with white lettering on the square to the left of the filler hole, not black as in the pic posted above.

I replaced mine three years ago with a Koyo due to a crack at the filler neck and the top of the new one is all black.

Hmm interesting.

I have the carfax from when the PO bought the car on 04/20/2012 it is a clean carfax. He only put 7,000 miles on the 4Runner since he purchased it. The Koyo A1998 is cheap enough that i'm going to replace this radiator anyway. Also an external trans cooler will be added at that time.

These automatics kill me, the only thing I wish is that this 4Runner had a 5 speed like my 2002 Tacoma.

And it has an optima battery hopefully its a sign of how the previous owner treated the car. Insanely low miles, and a supercharger I can see why you had to buy it congratulations on your new toy.

I'll cut ya a really good deal on those wheels haha ;):

Someone took pretty good care of this 4Runner. Nevertheless, I am going to do a complete fluid change as I like to know exactly when everything was done last.
