Mystery bolt.. Any ideas?

Hello All,
My wife was driving the 2010 Limited yesterday and felt this guy rolling around the driver's side floor board. I looked up under the dash but didn't see anywhere obvious it may have belonged.

Anyone have any ideas what it's for? Is it important?

That looks like a seatbelt anchor bolt possibly? Did you have a seatbelt replaced recently?

No seatbelt replacement...

I took it in for an oil change a few weeks ago.. That's it.

I will say the bolt looks more "worn" than any other bolt I've seen in the truck. The head appears to have been tightened/loosened a few times.

Yeah that's a seat belt bolt. Make sure all yours are intact, otherwise maybe a tech left it in your vehicle.

I'll check as soon as she gets home and report my findings.

Hopefully it's an extra that found its way into the car.

If there was no reason for tech to remove your belt swivel bolt then he would not do it. Most likely had one in his pocket from previous job and lost it in your car. Don't worry, if it was missing you wife would notice it right away the minute she buckled up.

This is probably what happened. Might not be a bad idea to bring it to the dealers attention though.

Those bolts either anchor the bottom of the seatbelt or the top portion that the belt slips through on the adjuster. If it were loose/missing you'd notice it the moment you buckled up.

I'm with the other guys who think it must have fallen out of the tech's pocket from a previous job.

But if you want to make sure, just tug on the seatbelts, if they feel like they're normal, you're good.

I checked them out and they're all intact.

Plus, this bolt is much smaller than the ones on the 5th Gen. I looked the the ones in my '97 and it doesn't look anything like those either.
I'll have to cancel my call to Nationwide.. haha
