N-Fab? Rocky Road Sliders?

"Enough complaining already, ladies!" - me, after they complained about how tall of a step it is to get in my T4R...and I haven't even lifted it!

My question, has anyone had an experience with Rocky Road sliders? They have two versions, the "Rocksliders," and the "SuperSliders." Wondering how they would compare to other dedicated sliders like Bud Built, Shrockwords...... Link: 4runner Rock Sliders: Toyota 4runner Rock Sliders

Could those be used as a step with some grip-tape on top of the bar, or would it be best to go the route of many members with the N-Fab side steps? Those don't seem to sacrifice much ground clearance and drop the onboarding step point at least a little bit.

Haven't been able to find anyone using the Rocky Road sliders.

I have NFabs. Cheap and server great as a step... they do give up a lot of clearance and they won't last against rocks.... they are just that. A step.

I have the Metal Tech OPOR sliders sprayed with the very grippy Rustoleum bed liner. They have more step room than the rocky roads yet are still DOM sliders, my short friends love them and they have already deflected a couple of would be door dings by aholes who exit... err... burst out of their car like it is on fire.

BTW, regardless of the pictures on their site they all come with front and rear dimple plates at no extra charge.

I am also from Houston and would be willing to sell you my Nfabs if you really wanted a set, they are in pretty good shape, and the textured black kind. PM me if you are interested. I would only be offing them to get shrockworks sliders with the tread plate (which i really want and am going to order myself for my bday in August, knowing i wont get them until October haha). Just let me know.

Also check out the slider thread in my signature. it has most all of the makers of sliders for the 5th gen. even a little step mod you can add if you want.

If you can wait a month, I can show you my shrockworks step sliders. They should be installed mid-july.

I've got Rocky Road supersliders. They work great as sliders and don't stick out as far as other sliders. As a step they wold be pretty bad. The top is almost as high as the door and doesn't offer much room for a foot. If you want slider steps, get Shrockworks step sliders.

I had RR's and welded my own steps on...worked great until the wife wanted me to get rid of them...big mistake.

I'm going to get the Slee next...probably in a month or so.....saw them on Paul Mays truck last year and really liked them. I really miss the side protection they offered.

Cool. Post some pictures of the Slee sliders. I haven't these on anyone's vehicle except on Slee's website.

Paul has to have the best 4runner overland build ever! Love the Slee sliders but I still prefer a bump out on the rear for rocks and trees.

I have the RRO supersliders, I added this bolt on step. It is a little fugly but it keeps the wife happy, I take it off when off roading. I like the RRO sliders because they are pretty low profile, they tuck in neatly.
