Nagging Steering / Brake Problem!

if you havent already, check all of your rear suspension bushings, I can almost guarantee thats what it is. a while ago my upper link ate a bushing, and it was just metal on metal, which caused it to swerve when braking. there was another thread about it somewhere. the only option really is to get a new arm, there is a set of poly bushings but they are from australia for a 90 series and will take a long time to get to you.

I mentioned the same as i feel it is the real issue, but think it was overlooked.

Polytuff makes a complete rear end bushing kit - they are out of Aus. Per Chuckles info on one of his posts, I ordered kits for both gunners.

Trust me Jhelms, your post was not overlooked. I am keeping a mental note on every suggestion. The kit looks promising but I thought the UCA bushings were not replaceable? Also, was your pull during braking swift or gradual? The reason I ask is when I quickly apply my brakes, the steering wheel itself does a quick turn to the left then comes back, my whole vehicle does not veer to the left.

how about you just look under the truck real quick, the rear axle moves then the front corrects by moving the steering.

I might have to borrow my friend's GoPro and check that. Either way, with the mileage and age of my rig I'm going to have to replace the rear bushings anyways. Damn, this endeavor is starting to sting my finances!!

LOL, my mechanic is cheap, good & most importantly honest, but he is far from fast!!!!

To the OP, I had the same issue, it was air in my front DS brake line.

its easy to tell if they are bad, they will be falling apart and cracked.

I want to thank all of you guys for your input. Here is a list of things I will perform, I will make sure to do them one at a time to pinpoint the issue:

-Activate ABS and bleed brakes

-Bleed master cylinder

-Replace rear UCAs (ordered through Camelback Toyota)

-Replace rear LCAs (ordered through Sonoran Steel)

-Replace front diff support arms (ordered through Camelback Toyota)

I will definitely update you guys weather the problem is fixed or not.

Ok guys, here are the things I've replaced: Rear UCA, rear LCA, front diff support arms. As of now, every piece of rubber on my rig has been replaced and the problem still persists. The only thing left is to bleed the master cylinder and somehow activate my ABS. DAMN!!!!!!

If you don't mind making a huge mess...empty lot + dish soap/water mixture all over pavement should give you a nice slick to activate ABS. Just be careful
