Well with my LockRight I didn't and I don't think you have to for the spartan as well (almost identical locker)

You're getting some impressive flex out your rear suspension! I know the control arms will help a good bit with that but I was wondering what length 5150's you have on the back? And how much up travel you have a ride height?

And you are still running a rear swaybar, but with the front longer endlinks correct?

And of course, the bumper looks awesome, any idea on how much it weighs?

Thanks a lot Mike, I appreciate your input and compliments here. The rear control arms helped a ton honestly, i never thought the factory bushings were restricting flex but they certainly were. The shocks are a discontinued shock originally sold for lifted Tacomas, not sure on the lengths. Fully loaded with a small cooler, my wheeling tools, and the fullsize spare i only have about 3" of uptravel showing on the shock shaft. Not where i want to be really, new rear coils are in my near future.

Yes, i am running front endlinks on my rear sway bar, i didnt like the feel of no sways so i will continue to run the rear.

Regarding the bumper weight i seem to remember it being listed around 75lbs or so on the shipping label. Not sure, a call into CBI would be needed to be certain.

RE the links, I really like the design. The 1/4" square tubing is a new take on things, and it should be plenty strong. I also like how you retained the factory bushing on the axle side (quiet, flexy), and added some flex on the other side with the uprgraded joints.

As far as the locker goes, my crystal ball says it won't stay for long. Considering how the rest of your build has gone (best of the best parts), I thought it was a little odd that you'd go with a non-selectable unit. I'd be willing to bet that it gets upgraded at some point.

Thanks for the kind words regarding the bumper and links, I have hammered them all pretty good so far and everything is still solid and straight. A spotter recently stopped me for a second to say " Stop, backup! you're on your lowers pretty hard" I chuckled and throttled up the ledge successfully. Putting some beauty marks in the rock and on my links.

Regarding the locker, yeah, i think you are right about being upgraded in the future. It was a good deal and i have been wanting a locker since i first took this truck out, a fluid change is coming soon to RedLine shockproof to see if it makes the locker behave a bit better on the street, at that point is when its future will be decided.

Great write up! It was great to drive around, take a turn a bit sharp and hear it pop - as the driver, you get used to it. Your passengers will think you are in the middle of a drive by shooting.

Bumper looks great - As with BFAD, I think the lines look pretty futuristic. I am not usually a fan of tube bumpers, but that came out pretty nice.

Thanks Nathan, I am definitely getting used to it. Sometimes it just seems to lock up for no apparent reason going around turns without any throttle input, really the only thing that bothers me. I dont mind the clicking and pops.

Nice 4runner, i'm not really a fan of the aftermarket bumper but the body lines flow well with it and really compliments the truck.

Cant say accurately how much it will retail for as i got a deal for being the first public prototype and i thought the bumper would be announced by now, call and ask them!

WOW, thank you Jeff!:humble: Means a lot dude, there are a few things i have in mind but now that i have the truck about where i want it, the upgrades have slowed way down. Stay tuned for tweaks and small upgrades though, I'm not done just yet.

We had just short of 90 Toyotas register for the event, of all kind! It was really cool seeing all the different models and the respect that was shared by everyone for their own as well as other people's rigs. Weather was perfect in the mountains where the event is Headquartered, sunny and 70*. It was hot in the desert where i led trails but thats where the biggest rocks are! Met some really badass guys and girls and had a very rewarding time leading trails and showing others just how capable their rigs and their driving abilities really are!

It's funny I was in discussion with CBI about this bumper back when I ordered my ODL and was seriously considering holding off. The timeline ended up being the killer for me but I'm glad to see the finished product making it into the public eye. I also had a great experience with CBI and think they do great work. Although I admit, this bumper isn't my favorite (but the more I look at it, the more I'm liking it), I can appreciate the design queues and applaud them for making it different than anything else on the market. I think the removable plate for the winch is a Godsend as well.

Keep up the good work, your 4Runner and photos are great!

Great skill to learn, its what i do daily for the Air Force! I would like to make it to the TW Moab meet but end of May is a terrible time to be in Moab, usually anyway. I want to go but wouldnt mind planning a trip with a few t4r guys when the weather is a bit cooler. I am planning on attending the Lone Star Toyota Jamboree in early May with a few guys from here as well. It looks like an awesome event also.

Great skill to learn, its what i do daily for the Air Force! I would like to make it to the TW Moab meet but end of May is a terrible time to be in Moab, usually anyway. I want to go but wouldnt mind planning a trip with a few t4r guys when the weather is a bit cooler. I am planning on attending the Lone Star Toyota Jamboree in early May with a few guys from here as well. It looks like an awesome event also.

I am excited for it. I will be learning all processes even though I know mig and flux and minor in tig. Plan is ND and work on the pipelines and what not. Apparently it pays out really well the heat isn't too bad I mean yes it is hot but the nights are super nice around May plus that is when the T4R guys show up plus a ton of TW guys. It was fun but next year we are camping at BFE instead of slumming at KOA. It will be the only trip I will be able to make next year. Paying for school sucks balls when your paying it all in cash upfront!!! :/

[MENTION=88576]smkd13[/MENTION] Man thats the only way to go and pay for school, all up front. I am so glad i finished college without any student loans, I paid for as many classes as i could take at a time. It took me longer than most but i dont have a shit-ton of student debt hanging over m head. If you want to do pipeline welding you will most likely be doing stick/arc welding. Once May gets closer ill decide on where ill spend some vacation time. I will love to go to the Jamboree in TX and to UT.

Used the bumper and skids a lot over the weekend. I "wore the new off it" as one guy said after i scratched and gouged the new front bumper. Now it matches the rest of my armor with that battle tested look. :thumb:

The base of the rock is wet, soft sand that digs out very easily. Also ensures all your tires are wet when you are ascending the obstacle.

[MENTION=88576]smkd13[/MENTION] Man thats the only way to go and pay for school, all up front. I am so glad i finished college without any student loans, I paid for as many classes as i could take at a time. It took me longer than most but i dont have a shit-ton of student debt hanging over m head. If you want to do pipeline welding you will most likely be doing stick/arc welding. Once May gets closer ill decide on where ill spend some vacation time. I will love to go to the Jamboree in TX and to UT.

That is what I will be focusing on for sure. Also gonna be focusing on tig to as they get paid good as well. And well hope you make the choice and come out next year. That TOTH looks like it would have been super fun
