Nav DVD ticking/seeking

Usually when I get in my 4runner I have the stereo on, not loud just on and I'm not sure if this has always happened or it just started. I was driving to work the other day and had the stereo off. I noticed a ticking type sound coming from my dash. I stopped the car put it in park and it persisted. Shut the car off and it went away.

I kind of recognized the noise because I work with computers and realized the noise was a CD drive so it was either the CD changer or the Nav DVD. Turns out it was the Nav DVD. Took the DVD out and the noise went away. The Nav works fine and I'm just wondering if this is normal and maybe I never noticed it because I usually have the windows cracked and the stereo on.

hello chuck. First off, i love your username. That is freaking funny.

Second, you are probably right, it's the nav dvd spinning up so that if you click to view the maps, it already has them loaded.

Normal. Mine does the same thing. I hardly notice it anymore.
