Okay, is the ribbon cable that you're talking about Part #9 listed as switch cable on the previous poster's website for the switch? I think it costs about $25 from Lexus.
The other thing is when I went into diagnostic mode on my HU (stock 04 4Runner NAV), there was nothing that said "microphone" in diagnostic mode. Does that mean that microphone will not work for 04 4Runner stock NAV?

I just ordered the right hand Voice button and the ribbon cable. As soon as they arrive i will post photos of the install and report any findings.

What about the microphone. Did you order that as well

Has any confirmed the actual factory placement of the 4runner microphone location.

I have the standard Mic kit from Japan (I think it is for a Lexus IS.) I don't think there is a factory mic location for the 4runner.. simply not an option (4Runners are only available with 3rd generation NAV systems... not sure if 3rd generation NAVs support the vioce commands.) I think i am going to mount mine on the A pillar... should look very 'factory' when i get done.

Does anyone know if the OEM Nav unit on an 04 will be compatible with voice commands? I actually purchased my 4Runner in 11/03. I have the stock 4Runner unit with JBL 10 speaker system. I would just use the button that comes with the mic (not add anything to steering wheel).
