Hello all,
This is not to bash NE lifts but just to tell my story.
I ordered and installed my NE lift back in 11/04. Took me 9 grueling hrs installing it myself. I had problems and questions but I do have to say that Anthony was pretty helpful and responded quickly. However, after reading the past threads about NE and their products I decided a month ago to check my lift out.
The front lift 3": NE did send me and I unknowingly installed those crappy Grade II bolts that mount the front shocks. I had no instructions on the NE install and used a Rev- Teck install write up that I found on T4R.ORG.
The Rear 2.5": everything seemed fine until I read the problems with the Relocs. After checking my relocs out, there is definitely a 5-10degree greater angle on the relocs and my X-REAS shock bushing was having a premature wearing. Upon removing the Relocs a month ago, the entire thing was rusty from having 1 week of salted roads during Christmas. Now, it was not just surface rust, the metals had started to Pit.
I got tired and worried about the Crappy Grade II bolts and from other members who reports their lifts to be out of round. So I ordered a complete new Rev-Tek kit which I finally installed this morning, took 3.5 hrs this time. All the NE kit is gone, in the trash and my $400 + dollars wasted. I guess a sucker is born every minute.
About a month ago, NE did send me replacement Grade 5 bolts after everyone on T4R.org mentioned sueing NE and reporting them. What angered me was that there was no appologies, no regrets, no letter, nothing, just 6 bolts to cover NEs' butt. It felt insulting to get the bolts, after the fact and that It took me 9 hours to put the lift in originally and I spent so much money. But with my NEW REV-TEK lift installed I feel great that all material and workmanship superb and my 4runner will perform safely once again. For the past few months of having the NE lift, I just worried to hell that those Grade II bolts would eventually shear apart while driving down the highway. And those Grade II bolts, also were corroded!
