That's the color and condition I'm looking for, but with a welded rear end and beadlocks it's not able to be driven on the road unfortunately.
For 6,500 that's a great deal

On a side note, if you're also looking for an 80 series 'Cruiser, IH8MUD.com | Your Online Toyota Land Cruiser Offroad Resource is an excellent source for them Land Cruiser market. And your 10k is plentiful for a late model 96-97, locked FCJ80. I own both 97 locked LC and 87 22RE Runner. Both are great trucks in their own ways.

Wow!! I bought mine for $2800 lol. I know it's not the typical going rate for them but there are deals everywhere. You just have to keep looking and be patient.

West coast is your best bet for a clean built 1st gen. No salt on roads so very little rust.
Also there tends to be a lot of money in the major cities so people put good parts on them. Sadly I never see them dirty either so fairly in abused. Might be worth the flight and drive/shipping home.
I picked up a 1 owner 1985 4Runner SR5 loaded no sunroof for $3500. Bone stock with dealer maintenance records. Had a little rust at the passenger rear wheel well and a mild scrape on the passenger side that buffed out. The motor was on its way out but other than that it was perfect. Probably the cleanest interior I had seen. It took me awhile to find it but I was looking for all original. I am going to build it myself. I pass on lots and lots of mildly built ones in the same price range and a few WOW that looks like it belongs in a museum for around 10,000.
Keep looking and you will find what your looking for.

Dude that beast looks awesome! I would check and see if the new engine is a good brand and give it a good test drive. It seems really well priced for our area.

Thanks From everything I've got from him it sounds like a solid build. He did all the work himself with a friend helping. I do like the fact that he replaced the engine with a new crate 22re. He said he was dd it for a while and it rides 65mph with no problem. I definitely want to check it out, just haven't drove a stick since high school haha

It's like riding a bike. Just start slow and don't power shift it, you be fine.
Get it up to speed and do a fairly hard stop. See if she tracks straight. If you have a good shop locally that knows old toyotas see if the will do a pre sale inspection. Should be sound 100-200 bucks to have them go through it.

Toyota trucks are stupid easy to drive too. On flat ground, you can just slowly let off the clutch and not even touch the gas without stalling.

And some guys build a truck like that because they both intend to use it, and HAVE used it...beat the crap out of it.
Are you just going the beat the S*** out of it anyway? Then I would not worry about the body parts. A premium 1st Gen 4Runner is about reliability, with capability...looks should be the last thing you worry about.
If the rig checks out mechanically...and that's a little hard to believe, haggle down and buy it.
