Hi all! So I was using a continuity tester/multi meter (the one with 2 probe leads) to figure out which wire provides power to the rearview mirror dimmer sensor there are only 2 wires on the connector. I accidentally touched the probes together and heard a tiny pop/spark. After investing I found out my dash cam stopped working. It was powered by the rearview mirror with a Dongar tech adapter. Also, the rearview mirror dimmer, the seat heaters, sunroof, power windows, power inverter button, windshield de-icer, (clock jumped ahead 1 hour), front aftermarket camera, backup camera, heat/cool and A/C knobs and lighting all stopped working. Also the map and dome lights turn on when I start the engine? I checked some of the fuses for items mentioned above and they seemed to be fine. Is there anything else I should look for? Did I fry something very important? Everything else seems to work and I even drove it around the block to see if there I was anything else wrong I could notice but nothing else at the moment. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Disconnect the battery. Then check all fuses in both fuse blocks (with a meter on the ohms scale) to see if any are blown and replace any that are. Then reconnect the battery and see if everything is working. If not, then you have to start troubleshooting, or take it to a repair shop. Toyotas are very unforgiving when it comes to electrical issues.

I would bust out the test light and test fuse by fuse. engine bay and under dash, you can do them all in maybe 10 minutes

did they change the fuse panel from 2012 to 2015? my ECU-1G No. 2 doesn't have that many things on it. my sunroof, power seats, etc are all on different fuses. My IG No. 2 only lists these
Air conditioning system, multiport fuel injection system/ sequential multiport fuel injection system

Hi emmantik,
I just went over the wiring diagram for the 5'th Gen 4Runner..., (NO WORRIES)! Eighter you took out a: 25A Sunroof fuse, your S/HTR fuses, a 7.5A A/C fuse, a RAD NO-1 (radio) fuse, along with a: 30A AMP radio fuse... all at the same time... or you tripped your ECU-IG NO-1 10A or ECU-IG NO-2 10A (D/S FUSE-BOX), or the 10A ECU-B fuse under the hood (Engine-room; just below the SHORT-PIN!
I would check those ECU fuses bc these will affect quite a few circuits at the same time... but more likely than tripping 5 separate fuses at the very same time... make sense(?)! Please let us know what-cha find out!
