Need help: 04' headlight assem replacement

Hi there ya'll.
I've got a 04 4runner and over the weekend had a chunk of tire get kicked-up by a car in-front of me and it took out the driver's side headlight lens. I've been trying to findout how to replace it. Thanks!!
Pictures or videos would be great!
I did find that I can't just buy the lens... have to get the whole thing... toyota wanted $224 for it.... gonna try a junk yard.

You can get a TYC unit on ebay for around $45-60 per side. Brand new.


And you have to remove the front bumper to get to all of the headlight assy bolts.

I just replaced mine. You just have to remove the radiator seal to get at one of the top
bolts. There is another bolt that is a bit tough but if you remove a couple of bolts from the fender liner, you can reach up there without much difficulty.

I'm on the road so I don't have access to any photos.

Ive got one from my '04 that i replaced cause it had some condensation inside if your interesred. Im in Martinsburg so not too far away.

fixing to swap out my headlights to projector predator type...so will be removing my oem lights...am wondering if there is a writeup to removing the headlights.

someone just said u gotta remove th e front bumper...another said the radiator seal.....

Take a look at the diagram. There are three bolts. One is covered by the radiator seal (just plastic dressing).

So is it easier to remove the front bumper or the inner fender covers and lower grill trim on top of the bumper? I'm having trouble removing the lower grill trim . I'm down to using a sledge hammer or pulling the entire front bumper cover.

No need to remove the front bumper. You can have that headlight off in 10 minutes if you take a couple bolts out of the fender liner in the wheel well. You can actually see the bolt with a flashlight when you hold the fender liner back, and you should have enough room to get a socket wrench in there. The 4th bolt is a pain and will probably take a while if you've never done it before, but it can be done and removing the front bumper is a waste of time.

X2. I've taken my headlights off many times and NEVER took the bumper off. FYI: You don't have to reinstall that pesky bolt under the inner fender cover. I have retros and would have noticed the light moving on bumps.
