Need help on front bumper replacement

My 1997 4runner took a hit in the front to mainly just the bumper. As a result the bumper is bent primarily to the pass side. Looking under it appears it's just the brackets that took the brunt of the hit. I already bought replacements. However, I also noticed that the end cap on the pass side of the frame was knocked off. Can you guys tell me if that is absolutely necessary to replace? If so, what's it called? I can't find it on line because I don't know what to call it. Any help would be appreciated. But the diagrams stink and I can't find a picture of it anywhere. So no guarantees.

I have no idea if it's needed or not as I have the '99+ bumper.

I just tagged my bumper about a week ago. Mine was dead center so I didnt hurt those pieces. I dont think that they are necessary. If you really wanted it on there I bet some of the guys parting out a 96-98 would pull that piece for you. Looks like your core support cross brace and skid pan bracket are ok. Lucky you!

Thanks for the info... OEM part is $40 bucks! I don't mind paying but I don't see too much of an issue without it. Other than the lower valance may sag there... we'll see. It may just be a part I head to the salvage yard for. ​
