Need Help on rim\tire sizes 14' SR5

Hey everyone,

I bought a 2014 4runner sr5 premium last year and looking to upgrade the rims and tires. I'm going insane with all this information needed about offsets, etc. Long story short I want a set of black rhino el cajon with nitto terra grapplers, or the exo grapplers. I wanted to upgrade to 18", so my question is which is the right size below, want them to come to the edge of the wheel well, ideally not exceed that at all. Also, with a factory set up, do I need to worry about rubbing, hitting the calipers, etc?? Any help would be appreciated. I waited too long and missed out on all the black TRD pro rims that were out there, but really think the cajon with the right rubber could be bad ass.

Check out the sticky on tire sizes at the beginning of this thread. It's extremely informative. I bought before I read it, and everything listed was true. I went with 17", 0 offset rims (screw that black crap, I went with PVD). I mounted 285/70x17 Nitto Terra Grapplers. I am lifted 1.75" up front and 1" in back. I needed to shave a little plastic up front.

I do not recommend you use positive offset rims. I had +25mm for a bit, and it rubbed on the upper control arms.

Bolt pattern is 6x139.7mm

The ideal rim size for least possible rub on most tires is an 8" wide with 0 offset (which is 4.5" backspacing). This will also put the tire right where you want it. A 9" wide rim with -12 is very close to that at 4.52" BS, but will stick out 1" more.

I would recommend a 17x8 0 to -10 offset with a 106mm bore (or at least a larger bore so a 106 ring can be added). Not sure why you would want 18s, but they do fit. 9" wide will also work, but there is more opportunity for rub and less tire choices...

I don't see the sticky at the top of this thread. Can you point out where it is? I'd like to read that.
