Need Help!!!

Ok so this just started today! my 87 t4r's charge light turned on today. also the tach, oil pressure, engine temp, and volt meter stopped working?????? wtf.... I have checked all the fuses. Nothing is wrong. any ideas? and experience with this problem?

Did you check the engine bay fuses too?
Is the Brake light coming on also?

Yep checked the engine bay fuses too! all fine. i looked at the brake lights, but i didnt notice if they were stuck on. i will look in the a.m. Im wondering if the alt has gone, or if i need a new gauge cluster.

He means the "Brake" light in the dash, not at the back of the truck.

The dash lights are set up so that the "Brake" and "Charge" lights will come on together if the alternator is bad.

Try stopping at a chain auto parts store (Autozone, O'Reiley, Advanced), they all test batteries and alternators for free with them still on the vehicle.

Oh haha. No the brake light is not on. i think i will still go get it tested just to be sure. weirder things have happended with this rig. so if it isnt the alt or battery, any ideas what it could be?

does the brake light work turn you key without starting it to see if all your dash lights work

ok so u just did some more investigating. the charge light is on. the volt meter docent work, water temp, oil pressure, and tach all stopped working at the same time. I just looked to see if the lights still work on it when you turn you lights on. they do, but the high beam indicator docent work now. when you turn the key to acc, the only warning light that works is the charging light. The only thing i have done to it in weeks is i ramed a pipe through that cat! it was bad anyway! i don't have to worrie about vehicle inspections.
