need some 4runner purchase help

Hey everyone,
I'm new here to this site but I look forward to being a regular when I finally buy my 4runner. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to how I could find the specific 4runner I am looking for. I am looking to purchase a V6 03-04 4runner limited with navigation within the next couple weeks. I have been having trouble finding one. I have searched toyotas main site, ebay, autotrader, autobytel, and all those other car websites. It seems like this specific type is extremly rare or people just don't want to sell their 4runner because they love it to much! :) Could anyone help me out with some advice or should I contact my local dealer and have them search for me? Anything would be a great help! Thanks in advance.

I would contact my dealer. That is what I did and they found one that was 95% exactly like what I was looking for. The other 5% were a couple options that I didn't think I would want but ended up loving them. My dealers site offers a spot where I can look at all the Toyotas available in my area, so I actually found the same one the dealer found for me while waiting to hear back from them. It was also nice because I could compare all the ones available and see which one I liked the best. And if you really can't find one you want you can always order one.

Not sure which region you're in. Some say navigation models are hard to find and not many 4Runners have it. In my region only V8 Limiteds have the navigation option on them.

If the backup camera isn't a necessity, just add the factory unit afterwards. Oemvalue.com sells the factory unit one. 2003 models did not have the backup camera, 2004 does.

It would help to know where you are... here in Northern CA I saw plenty of limited V8's with nav but fewer V6's.

I just kept an eye on autotrader and a couple of Bay Area used car sites and saw just about every combination over a four-week period within 100 miles.

Dealers can also often find a specific used model but don't expect to get any bargains if you have a dealer do the searching.

Before the gas crunch most Limiteds were V8s, that's why you don't see many. You may want to consider the 05 V6 because it has the 5 speed auto trans and there are probably more out there.
