Need tips on new Wheels, I'm moving to Wisco!

Hey all, I'm moving to Wisco and am in need of a new set of tires. I'm having a hard time picking tires that will be great in snow, mud, dirt, road, highway and I won't have a hard time with black ice in the winter. I was going for something that would look good as well and hopefully be a little bigger. Right now im running 265/70/17

I've got a 2004 Sport 4wd and a small lift that came with the car when I bought it. 1.5 and 2.5 inch spacers if I remember correctly

Looking to get a new rear and front bumper in the next few months

Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs get my vote. I have had mine on my 3rd gen for just about 25k miles. They are wearing very well, and I have put them through their paces in all of the terrain conditions your mentioned and they performed flawlessly. And as an added bonus they are severe weather rated so they have the little snowflake symbol on the side. They are an agressive all terrain tire that has the good looks of a mud terrain but perform way better on the highway. I will undoubtedly buy a set again once I move up to a 4th gen. 265/70/17 is probably the biggest you could fit without some decent rubbing given the lift you have. It'd be easier help if you could get some pictures up. Anyway, good luck on your move and tire search!:cheers:

I ran Destinations when I was still living back at home, they were great. My buddy was running Duratracs and they worked well too though, you'd be safe with either of those.

What part of the Sconnie Nation are you moving to?

You can't go wrong with Duratracs. I just had a chance to try them in ice and snow conditions, and I am more than happy with them.

x2 - I'm very happy with mine. BTW, no tire is going to help you on black ice or ice in general. Don't be the 4x4 guy in the ditch because you think your truck is immune to ice...

Alright well I agree the DuraTrac's look pretty awesome. I'm curious on your guys experience with the 265 vs the 285.

Also SpiderTrax, 2 inch? What is your guys experience with them? Do they work alright and add a good look?
