Nerf Bars Installed!

So do you know where I can get those nerf bars / roof bars at for a 04?

Those are the standard factory Toyota steps for an '06-'09 Sport Edition. You might be able to get them from the dealership or from someone online selling their's.

I may be a girl but I know enough about handling terrain and I certainly know the kind of terrain my T4R will see. My necessary "off-roading" down here is mud, sand, and washboard dirt roads (and that's not having fun, that's just getting home).

Your nerf bars are practical and look great. Thanks to your write-up, I ordered the same set in black from AutoAnything and they should be arriving any day. I want them as steps so I can get into my truck easier without pulling on the steering wheel (I'm only 5'3" and have short legs). I like these better than running boards because they are less conspicuous and let the snow, mud, and gravel drain off rather than accumulate as they would on a running board.

(and thank you for pointing out that some of us girls actually live (as opposed to recreate) in tough terrain and don't spend all of our time carpooling kids to soccer practice or shopping....)

AMEN! I love my 2010 and also put black tubes on, tinted the windows, put 20's on it, automatic start, husky liners, just put spacers from ToyTec on it……AND I'M A GIRL!!!!

I'm too selfish to have kids…screw the mall :flipoff:

:thumb3: itgirl, those look great, I was really torn between the black and the stainless, the stainless will probably be a more durable finish in the long run. Are they easy for your kids to use to get in and out of the truck?

Sam - cool mods! Do you have any pics of your black tubes? What kind did you find?

Thanks! They are from Westin, they are in the picture, but it's a little too dark to see them. They look just like the ones that 4RunnerTay put on her BP, I'm am 5'3" as well and I really like them.

yes, they are easy to use and a huge help for my kids. me too, since i am also only 5'3" tall and toyota decided to remove the grab bar that my 4th gen used to have by the front windshield. :D the stainless is just the right complement to the rest of the chrome accents, i think.

love those stainless nerf bars

my wife has the silver SR5 and we've been humming and hawing about running boards or nerf bars... those stainless nerfs look phenomenal!

I have a 2010 Black SR5 and I dig the looks of your Stainless Steel Nerf Bars. Where did you get them? I went to Autoanything and it says the Steelcraft nerf bars dont fit my 4runner.

I think AutoAnything is having problems getting these in for the 4Runner and they've been on backorder for a long time, so they are probably just not listing them as being available anymore. I originally ordered a black set from them back in April and it was on backorder forever, so I finally cancelled and found another online retailer that had them in stock and got them in less than 3 days. I paid a little more than AutoAnything's prices but at least I got them quickly.

Here is where I got mine:

I am glad I got them, they feel very sturdy and they make it so much easier for me to get in the truck and deal with stuff on the roof rack. Husband put them on for me, instructions were clear and all parts inlcuded and well labeled.
