Neutral Safety Switch

I wonder what the dealer does in this case where the switch is stuck, rusted or corroded on. I can see some dealers charging for a new transmission!
That's a scary thought. I'll go through the 7 hours or whatever it took me last time before I go that route.

Just the harness

Hi, you guys are doing all sorts of things here that I don’t need to do. Yet I’m just trying to pull off the wiring harness to clean it. My reverse camera is not working. And this is one of the 6000 things I need to check. How do I pull the harness off? Is it glued? I cannot get it off

I had issues getting this off the first time and eventually brought it to the dealer to get it off. I didn't want to risk it. It came back a few years later so I ordered another NSS from the dealer. Picked it up, went home and sprayed the old one with PB blaster to start prepping for the corrosion. After I sprayed it, the lights went away. So the new one is on the shelf for when it does eventually fail again. But the PB blaster bought me a little time with the current NSS.

That's great you're prepared. PB only bought me a few weeks when mine went. I covered my current one in PB and then fluid film when I bought it at 60k just as a precaution (2016 limited in the NE bought last year). So far so good.

Not looking forward to doing that job again.

I actually blame Covid for the last one because that 2012 sat outside for weeks at a time without being driven or shifted. I have other vehicles as well and it's my travel vehicle. I wasn't traveling so it sat. I used to say "My 4Runner got Covid too, right in the NSS."
