Never off-road.

I see lots of references in the late model forums about owners that don't take their rigs off-road, which is enough to make the baby Jesus cry.

But we don't have that problem in here, do we? None of you running 20 inch rims and street tires, right? No lowering kits? Nobody afraid to get their truck dirty?

If I didnt wheel or need 4wd for snow...I'd be in a 2wd pickup..but instead I have a trail rig, and a part time trail rig that need to get me to work. Haha.

Our truck has never been off-roaded, unless you consider the rare excursion on a logging road in BC, off road. It is basically a street truck and gets rarely used except for heavy snow storms where we need to get out.

I had wanted a 4Runner for years. Now that I have one AND I live in Colorado....... No brainer. I'm off the pavement every chance I get. I have owned a 89 Blazer S10 Tahoe and two Jeep Cherokees. Neither can even compare.

Mine has only been off the pavement 2x so I voted no, but I have a decent excuse, I've only owned it 3 weeks. Haven't got it built like I want yet.

The truck is driven by the elderly, and rarely makes it over 40mph, mud will probably never happen. Sorry. Think of it this way, it will make someone a nice vehicle down the road when we get rid of it. The roughest service this thing sees, is not getting waxed and cleaned out once a month.

I'm on my third one, and even with the first one, I had it out in the woods before the first week was out. From the start, my intentions have always been equal parts recreation and transportation. I'm a diehard explorer, so I use whatever capabilities a vehicle has to get me farther off the beaten path. To me, having a high-clearance, low-range 4WD and not taking advantage of it is like buying a really nice tool set in a chest, putting it in the corner of the living room, and using it for a TV stand--you might as well have got something else.

I've never cared what vehicle I owned, they have all been offroad at one point or another. Futhermore I don't believe I have ever owned a vehicle that hasnt been STUCK and had to be pulled or towed out of...I LOVE MUDD !!!!

If I had a low mileage 1st gen she would be more of a street queen, but since the one I bought was mistreated before I had her, she has been on and over an obstacle or two.

Lots of great spots here in BC but only had the truck off road once and it was a logging road. I know i suck

I've had mine for 10 years. When I first got it, and I only had a dog, the dog and I would take it the lake or out in the woods for camping trips. Now that I have two young kids, it does not get off-road as much. But its still a lot of fun to take on trails when I can. My son loves to ride in it with the top off, on-road or off-road.

I bought my rig last October. Since then I've racked up a couple hundred miles of off-road pleasure. I live in South-Eastern Idaho, so there are plenty of trails to hit up. Things have kind of slowed down recently with the snow (though we've had relatively little this year), but I'm planning a run this weekend... can't wait! The mud (well, right now it's ice and snow) is the reason I bought her!

I've attached a picture of me and my truck about 20 minutes after I bought it The funny thing is that this wasn't the first time I took it off roading. I actually got "stuck" during the test drive! That's how I found out the 4wd wasn't working (it was just a simple vacuum problem).

Outdoor and off-road fun is WHY I have one! Super reliable= peace of mind in the mountains, Smaller size= manuverability on tight trails and old mining roads. I threw away my hard-top and run a softopper year-round here in Montana.
Heck, this is the Exact and Only type of 4runner I would really want! Solid front axle, fuel injection, and open air!!!
Other models work fine, but the removable topper is KEY to additional outdoor "Toyota Feeling" (insert pic of me jumping as high as I can next to my rig).
