New '06 Limited! Tire Choices on 18"

I got rid of my stock 18's for the same problem ...rim width. Had a hard time finding a tire for them. The BFG's would be a good choice if you must keep the stock rims. If not ...you may already know this but you will get a lot more options with a wider rim. I put 285 Terra Grapplers on TRD 18" rims and it looks more aggressive and the tires are great. Lift is required. The TRD rim also puts the outside edge of the wheels out further getting rid of it looking like the wheels are hiding under the wheel wells (stock wheel base just looks too narrow to me) . I saw someone recommending 16's but you can't go that small due to the brake size on the Limited. 17's will work fine. Hope this helps ....good luck and post pics when you're done.

Same boat.

It's the wifes truck, and she loves the 18s, but the tires perform woefully on anything but dry pavement. She doesn't even drive it in the snow because of it.

You need to get a set of the Cross Terrains. They do great in the snow. :

:iagree:. My friend went with me snowboarding during a slight snow shower and he was amazed how stable and comfortable the CTs rode. Chain controls were in effect when I was heading up.

You need to get a set of the Cross Terrains. They do great in the snow. :

FYI, Michelin is discontinuing the Cross Terrains. They are recommending CUV drivers to go with the Latitude tour HP. That said, for us who still own a truck SUV, they have new LTX M/S 2 coming out in sept. that's cheaper and should work just as well as the CTs.
