New 2010 4Runner

Can somebody translate and tell me exactly what was changed here from stock?

What is a spacer? On the spring mounts (to raise the vehicle) or on the wheel assembly (to push the wheels out)?

Were new shocks and springs installed?

What size tire is this? Does it match the OEM total circumference?
 
thats a really nice look, it must be difficult keeping a black car clean in your area. i also noticed that you dont have the roof rack cross bars, did you take them off or do SR5's not come with them??

Sorry. I installed a suspension lift. The front is lifted with spacers that go above the factory coilovers netting a 3" lift. The rear is lifted with new 2" lift rear springs. These replaced the factory springs lifting the vehicle. I have not installed new shocks as of yet.

This tire is approx 33X11X20, this is about 2" taller than stock.

Its actually dark grey, but yes its hard!!

Mine did not come with the cross bars. I will have to order them for my ski racks, just busy with moving and no way the wife will let me go ride right now, it was hard enough to sneak away to throw the lift on!

If I might add, the spacer lift you are running is ToyTec's split 3" spacer design. Meaning, approximately you will receive just over 2 inch's of lift with a spacer that pre-load's the coil and goes below the mounting plate. Then we include the 2nd part of the spacer in which goes on top of the mounting plate, concluded the full 3 inch's of lift. We have chosen this design as it offers a little less stress to the IFS system. We do have dealers install these lifts on new vehicles before they sell them off the showroom floor.

And then that rear coil is a custom ToyTec coil. Offering just a little bit more load capacity over stock.



I also own a dark charcoal black vehicle, a tacoma, and I've always owned 'lighter' colored vehicles before having been a native of Colorado, that when I purchased this rig, I thought it was going to be more difficult to keep clean. But to my surprise, I didn't think it was soooo bad ;).

That looks really really sharp - not too much, just enough, very clean. I have the same setup (stock) and plan on doing very similar mods in a few months. Nice to see it tricked out a little. What's your next mod?
 
One thing about it is I think you should remove the chrome above the license plate and on the front grill for a more black look check out Harper7's for the grille.

Thanks. Next mod is tint on the front 2 windows. Then a little interior work, probably katskins leather with some seat heaters...cold in CO. After that I think I will splurge for some front coilovers and new rear shocks. Hopefully by then someone will have some slider and bumper options! Then who knows, maybe URD will have there supercharger kit done and this thing will get some more ponies!!!

Thanks. I totally agree with you. I hate the back with all that chrome. I dont think i can completely remove. I hope I can remove and take somewhere to get refinished in a blacked out chrome or spayed black, just something that is not so obnoxious.

The ride is a little stiffer and of course you can feel the extra width on the tires, grabbing the road a little more. Overall not bad at all. It is still plush and handles well. I only have 600 miles on it so not sure about mileage, so far it seems to be getting about the same as I was getting prior to bigger tires. The speedo is off about 3-4%. Not bad I can live with it, maybe get it fixed, maybe not.

BTW, the very next mod will be to trim these front wheel wells a little so my slight rub will go away.
 
Will 16s fit on the 2010 4runner? Or are the disc brakes too big?

I really want to put these FJ wheels on my new ride:

i'm not 100% sure, but reasonably certain that all the new 4Runners have the bigger brakes so 16s won't fit. hopefully someone else will confirm.
too bad. i always liked those TRD FJ rims, too.
